Found tracks I wanted on iTunes.
Didn't want to use iTunes.
Looked around for this obscure music elsewhere online.
Found it. Bought it.
Fuck iTunes.

I can't afford to buy all my music iff itunes so I don't buy anything off them. I have over $5000 worth of music on my computer. An extra 88c might make ny music be worth closer to $7000. Can i insure my music collection and computer then drop it?
You only get ripped off if you choose to be. Id rather buy a motorbike and pay the rent than pay for music. It's not like without paying you can't get it.

I think its only singles that happens with, who the fuck buys singles anyway? If an artist can make a song worth listening too, surely the rest of the album is worth a dabble at least.
Paying for music is just plain dumb.
...or ethical, I might not have paid for all my music, but I do recognise that it is ethical to give something back to people who have made something I enjoy.

I can see what they're getting at here, the principle etc. Personally I don't bother with iTunes, because for a start it doesn't work on my computer and then the fact I don't want a low quality mp3. I'd rather spend said cash on a CD or LP.

It's the jews in the middle who are getting most of the money, not the "artist".

So you think its more ethical that the artist gets nothing, instead of a small amount? Or do you spend a bit on their concerts or merchandise instead?

I'm not rich enough to afford concert tickets or merchandise. If I can jump a fence and get in for free I'd be keen to see a live gig.

Tried to pay for the obscure kinda bands I like. Can't find shit that's fair, $30 for an online album? No
Electronic media like this needs a better service that isn't some huge corporate that jacks the prices. Look at the service for games on steam; cheap with a nice interface, good service, regular updates, secure, plenty of sales and deals regularly. Steam greenlight helps bring on a user driven support system for new games.
If the music industry had something like that I'd wager it would be quite popular. Problem is the music industry is just giants like itunes with their head firmly up their ass. Along with the RIAA, the whole dotcom scandal etc

The music industry has failed both its customer base, and the artists.
Apparently the answer is to really fuck everyone over.

Ok, I can understand it if your situation doesn't allow much music expenditure, but what strikes me a completely retarded is encouraging others to pirate it too...
