Fuel gauge on CBR 125 not working

Hi all! i just bought cbr125 secondhand :) when i first start it and ride from tauranga to auckland its seems to be fine,but i realized something wrong.
the fuel gauge show above F,I check the tank is only half!!

please help me with this problem!

It is not a problem ... until the time you trust your fuel gauge ... on any bike. (especially just after purchase) ... then you can expect problems.

Often the fuel gauge wont show any movement for the first (top) half of the tank. Then drops quickly.

Or the float attached to the sender unit inside the tank is bent and/or stuck. Or not wired correctly to the gauge. If indeed the gauge is actually working. (or capable of working) If the tank is empty and the gauge still shows full ... this will most likely be why.

The sender unit float is screwed to a circular plate on the tank ... on the inside (underneath) where the tank straddles the chassis. On older bikes ... the screws may be rusted to the tank. You may be able to remove the screws ... but not replace (whats left of ) them. And the seal for the plate may be damaged as well.

yea, i think the sender unit is broken. i suspect that the floater is come off the sender unit so i feel like something floating and knocking my tank whenever i move it.

If it was me i wouldnt bother with it & ride off the trip meter. Fill a smallish petrol canister & 0 the trip meter, ride until it stops & note how far you got then fill it up from your can & you then know what your max range is. My first bikes didnt have fuel gauges & I still dont trust them anyway, not accurate enough. go by Ks riden
