Hi all,
I'm a Melbourne based rider, pretty keen to get over to NZ for a few weeks to explore your amazing roads. I was hoping to get over there before the end of Summer/Autumn, while the weather is still good, but have been having trouble finding a bike. Obviously renting one is a very expensive enterprise, and it would work out cheaper to buy one and sell it again, but then obviously I'd have to stay in town long enough to sell it, which might not be so practical.
So I have this vague idea that maybe someone would be willing to hire out one of their motorbikes to me for a few weeks, for a couple of hundred $ a week fee. This is more directed at those with a few bikes in their garage that wouldn't miss one of them for a few weeks, and could use a bit of extra cash.
Either that, or perhaps there is someone who is planning to head over to Australia in the near future, who would consider a trade off- I use theirs for a few weeks in NZ, and they use mine for a few weeks in Aus.
I'm a confident rider who would treat another person's bike even better than I treat my own, and I have a mechanical sympathy even if I don't have an extensive mechanical knowledge.
It's a long shot, I know, but it doesn't hurt to ask!
Frankie
