Well G'day blokes and blokettes, I've spent a few weekends in Auckland and Mt Maunganui this year, and looks like I may be moving over later this year.
Looking forward to riding your roads and tracks.
Been a member on here for a few years but bugger me don't know what happened and why I hadn't posted.
My current rides '98 RGV, rebuilt that a few times, '92 baby blade, 2010 Harley wideglide, and I just sold my 09 'R1.
Not sure what the go is bringing them over but will get that sorted when the time comes, plus the car and all my bits. Hmmm, might buy a 20' container or something.
Anyway, will be looking to do some rides with you.
Cheers.

I am sure you will like it over here, are you planning on moving to one of those 2 locations mentioned or will you end up in another part of the country if you move?

Hey Grant, yes mate it will be one of those locations or in between I think.
Trying to work out the WoF at the moment too.
I have an old work collegue named Grant as well hahaha, don't know if he rides though.

Bring the RGV, the rest are just junk you can buy here. Haven't seen a VJ23 for sale in 6 months though.

Welcome bro. I'm in Auckland. Ride most Sundays. Let us know when you are here.

Things didn't work out as I'd hoped but it's a slow process and finally starting to move again. I've been visiting Auckland and Christchurch for the last 3 years almost every 3 months for a few days at a time.
Finally getting organised with the divorce and looking for work. Should be in Auckland before Christmas.

Welcome!
I moved from Perth to Auckland back in 2004 - 2010 and returned again (from Melbourne) in 2013.
For me it's motorcycling heaven. There are some fantastic motorcycling roads, albeit some are in average condition and the whole of Auckland seems to be in aperpetual staate of roadworks.

There is a strong motorcycling culture in Auckland, plenty of bikes around and groups to ride with.
I'm not sure what the motorcycling participation rates are in NZ compared to other countries per capita but I would guess NZ is up there.

Awesome thanks for that. I did a lot of touring up north and loved it. Around the island over 2 weeks and took on lots of great roads.
What worried me was how small t was but you know, after a few more visits there was a lot more to see.
I'm looking on trademe for another bike save me having to bring one with me. May as well leave a couple bikes at my parents so I can use them when I go back every few months.
I found a lot of bikes on trademe are pretty expensive compared to aussie bikes, even after exchange rate. I would have thought they'd be on a par but maybe the gst?
Very much looking forward to getting in tune with the clubs and groups.
