They always seem to have done something stupid with the bikes I get.

Just replaced my ignition on the 400. Previous owner had glued it in as someone appears to have hacksawed off the torx bolts that were meant to hold it in

Then it fails a warrant (that it has passed many times before) thanks to someone snapping some tabs off the h4 bulbs and putting those in instead of paying for the proper ones. Although hard to blame them really when they cost $60 each  Could get two for $50 from overseas if I wanted to wait.

Won't be buying a bike over 10 years old again getting real sick of this! My GPX had all sorts of dodgy crap that I had to fix on it as well.

Fingers crossed there isn't anything else to find....

 It's always fun eh?
The only thing that really pisses me off is shit wiring
But I'm re-looming both my bikes anyway, so it doesn't matter

Stop buying such rubbish bikes that fall apart after ten years then, get one that's still going strong after twenty :D

Its the tipping point you see, stupids will demolish a bike in around 10 years, if its still going after 20 they can't be that stupid right! Might also have something to do with the brand :2thumbsup

Although I must confess, I too am a damn previous owner, the last bike I sold was a GN with underbody LEDs

Its the small shortcuts people take that annoy me. Haven't had anyone fuck with anything too serious yet....

You didn't buy it from a used car sales man did you??Nah just some old dick that I knew was full of shit. No way I can pick up on incorrect lamps and a glued on ignition when having a quick look around it.

Went through a pre-purchase inspection and a few WOFs over the years with no drama. These mechanics love finding things to fail me on ;)

I glued the main banjo bolt into the 2T oil pump on my GT550 because the thread was stripped out of the pump by the last stupid bloody owner and I couldn't find another pump because "they did that" and were rare as.

Wash with white spirits and apply industrieal strength araldite,,, lasted me two years.
But I still wonder how long it took the next poor mug to find it.

...and if the sellers communication consists of grunts, foot-stamping, and chest beating.

Maybe some people can't afford to do things properly all the time. You took the cheap option to buy it ... the previous owner took the cheap option to keep it running.

Cant blame the current owner who is selling. Every 2nd hand bike on Tme has a ding, fault, crash marks from the 'previous' owner to the chap you are looking at buying off.

" A few marks from the previous owner"

" Some scratches from the previous owner"

" Has been dropped by a previous owner".

I know right! ALWAYS the previous owner, Not sure how that works though, Must be some sort of time travel involved..?

Many years ago, I sold a 400 Suzuki I rebuilt from a write off. I was able to honestly say "I have not dropped it, but I am sure a previous owner has at some time"
