Hi
I am in the final stages of a Masters of Design (Photography) at Unitec Mt Albert, Auckland.

My interest lies in creating collections/series of portraits of various groups or sub cultures. For my masters I have been focused on women motorcyclists and need more women happy to participate and have their portrait taken to add to the series.

I need about half an hour to take a portrait in the studio at Unitec Mt Albert. To view an example of the type of image please click on the link below.

http://unitecpracticebasedresearch.wordpress.com/2012/11/23/kirsten-ralph-biker-chicks/

The images will be seen by my Masters supervisors and other Masters students and depending on which images I use may be used in the final examination and public exhibition.

If you are woman that rides or know of any that may be interested in taking part in the project please feel free to contact me.

If I were in Auckland I'd be happy to help. Bit far to travel though.

C'mon ladies!! Here's a chance to help someone out and get some "me" pictures...and we all like "me" pics right?;)

My bike is pretty, does that help? I would do it.... as long as you didn't publish a really bad photo of me

.... starting to get some replies and interest in taking part. Thanks to those that have emailed me so far.

I will make some bookings at the Unitec studio and send an email out to those interested with some dates and times.

I'm using an old 5x4 camera with the bellows and black cloth over my head.... old shcool! Just love the detail I get from the larger negatives.

Please see the link below for an example of the images I am taking

Studio portraits with you wearing your bike jacket and helmet.

Will send more details once I have the studio booking.

I'd offer to help, but...

I'd offer to help, but...I'm neither a woman nor a biker. Frustratingly, no-one has mentioned religion, batteries or fire extinguishers yet, but I'll just make a pointless post here anyhow...

Fixed that for ya...

Are there going to be any nude pics?

No.... no nude pics!!

Portraits of women fully clothed and wearing their helmets.

This is a totally legit Masters of Design by Project. For any women that are a little unsure I am totally happy to give them my supervisors contact details at Unitec Mt Albert to confirm. I had to present the project concept and get proposal approval before I could go ahead and start photographing.

Any more sensible questions, don't hesitate to ask.

cheers

Hi

Thank you to everyone that has been in touch with regards to my next photo shoot.

Date & Time:
I have managed to book the camera and the studio for this Saturday 13th April from 11am to 4pm. I will need approximately half an hour of your time. You are welcome to come in a group if you prefer, just let me know how many of you to expect and at what time so that I can have enough film loaded.

If you can make this Saturday please email me and I will email you with further details.

kirsten.weir@xtra.co.nz

P.S All women that ride motorcycles welcome to take part in the project, not concerned about what bike you ride. The more portraits I make the better as it helps with my research stage of the Masters.

I've emailed you.

Hi thank you, I am not sure if I have received your email. It is hard to tell sometimes with the Forum names vs the email names and addresses.

I have another photo shoot booked this weekend. Email me if you are available Sunday and I will let you know the details.
