I watched the on-board bike footage one first. Interesting how different the perspective is from the 4x4.

Both should have been on the right (hand) side of the road.

Idiot needed more high vis and a Katman issue magic wand.

Maybe he's already got one.

Maybe he saw the skate boarders and it was the "what the fuck" reaction that saved him.

Prior to that though, I wonder how much of his concentration was taken up by "must...not...lose...lead".

blackdog
5th March 2013, 16:11
Yes Katman, he was hustling.

However, anyone coming into that corner at even less than average speed was in serious peril. I think it was in fact because he was experienced that he saved his own bacon. A novice may not have managed to avoid it.

Hope he buys a lotto ticket, one lucky cookie right there.

I'm still trying to figure out what the 4x4 was actually doing anyhow, blind corner, way over etc. Where was this? Reminds me of New Zealand...

Except they are driving/riding on the other side of the road!

(does that count as a pun?)

Yeh, thats why I'm assuming it was somewhere else.. But maybe I should assume so much...

Ok, maybe best if nothing was coming up the hill.

But if there HAD to be a vehicle a large long nosed truck with a heavy load would prevent the turkey in the 4X4 ever doing that again...

I don't understand your response? I too was thinking "pity it wasn't a large truck coming up the hill to deal to the wayward 4x4 idiot" The 4x4 idiot was totally on the wrong side of a blind corner, he deserves to have the shit scared out of him, just like he did to the rider. Or are you saying yourself or a fellow driver would also drive around blind corners on the wrong side of the road?

The passenger called the driver Ahmed. Wish that would help the Cops locate him but I guess they are busy chasing every other Ahmed in the States these days for terrorism.

The rider did a brilliant job of avoiding a head on crash

Visible number plate proves who the vehicle owner is. 2 minute investigation. Ahmed narrows it down to proof of who was driving at the time.

I read his response as "If I was driving the truck that hit the 4x4 I'd be fuctarooed"

The utter fuckery of the 4x4 driver leaves me speachless. Been on the receiving end of similar shit few times both in cage and on bike.

Lucky the 4x4 was hard on the shoulder and doing ~10mph and even more lucky biker dude didn't panic or target fixate.

It should be legal to drive over skateboarders.

(More seriously: how many of us expect slower drivers to get out of the way and let us pass? Why should those skaters get in the way of the 4x4 like that? How many times have people written on KB to the resident cops and said "target slow drivers, not just the speeders". (And yes, the 4x4 should have just waited and not passed in a place without visibility, if the biker had been smacked it would have been the 4x4's fault, no matter how annoying the skaters were. I just don't think the skaters were totally blameless.))

Bro, they were filming the skateboarders, they were probably friends. So now it's the skateboarder's fault if an idiot is allowed to drive a fucken jeep

Bro, read what I wrote, don't read half of it then imagine something else; I didn't say it was the skateboarders "fault". Did you miss this bit? "if the biker had been smacked it would have been the 4x4's fault".

(Though, if the 4x4 was filming the skateboarders then all of them, 4x4 driver AND the skaters ought to be heavily stepped on.)

Sensitive type are you. It was a straight forward, no insult implied, question to clarify your point of view. Hardly a call to arms but at least now we know who the dickhead is.

Ahmed should be incarcerated for attempted murder and banned for life from driving anything apart from a camel and in that case, only off road.

If someone can get away with putting his own and other people's lives in grave danger like that, how is it that I get pinged for a few ks above the limit where this is perfectly safe, given the conditions?
