View Full Version : I met Red Mermaid today

Was passenger in a colleagues ute today when we get pulled over by a couple of Mermaids. Mate starts puckering up because he's just picked up a hire trailer and doesn't know for sure if it's rego & wof'd.

Funnily enough I had just last week pondered on Red Mermaids KB name and had deduced the red bit must have meant he's a Gingavitis sufferer. Our friendly Law Enforcement Officer happened to be a Gingavitis sufferer so I asked him some leading questions...

We ended up driving away without offering a contribution to the Officers March KPI's, probably due to the fact we were legal as, bro.

So, Red, nice to meet you today. I'm hoping that's the only time I have to meet you professionally but once we started talking bikes I could see we clearly have at least one thing in common.

Good luck with the Tiger.

They'll think of something. Maybe getting gingivitis is a side effect of writing out too many tickets for example.

Good to meet you to as well mate, and I thought it was your younger brother driving.

Next time you can contribute to my tiger fund.

BTW an inquiry has been started by KB management as to why you were stopped and not given a ticket, cause I mean to say according to lore on here we are just about all corrupt liars just working to meet our quotas.

I was stopped by an officer the other weekend on my way back from the wairapa and he gave me a verbal warning

Think it was because I passed the attitude test

Was fully expecting a ticket as he had me dead to rights think the fact I pulled up straight away and admited it helped

Yeah, the Wairarapa is weird. Anywhere else you would get a bit more than a warning for having a gagged and bound eight year old boy in the boot of your car.

We don't fine for intelligence.

It's mainly bozos and cretins we fine.

Is that all lol
Hey, I see plenty of adventure bikes go past my place, have you heard of the rising sun? It's at the top of my valley. One gets to it via DVKE, Webber Rd, Waitahora Rd, turn left at end of that, and on up past a limestone quarry, and over the rising sun, down past the Waihi falls road and back onto Webber road. Amazing gravel roads starting from about 16 km's in on Waitahora Rd....

That is what Ed Byrne would find ironic.

I've been out Weber and Herbertville a few times and even to Pongaroa, but never been along the Waitahora Road.

I highly recommend it if you like a good gravel road. The scenery with limestone formations and stunning views from the top of the valley are great too. The gravel starts about 16 odd km's in waitahora Road, just past where I live. Reckon your DL would be the ducks guts on that ride. I'm thinking about getting a adventure style bike when I replace my current road bike. Feel free to PM me should you want more specific directions for the overall loop back around to Webber road.

My DL has done it a number of times - it's a great pootle. Good views in clear weather (been up there in fog and rain twice).
