Wanted: RG150. Needs to be as stock as possible. Good condition, and must run good. Actually ok if needs rebuild, as long as it's not totally worn out. Street legal with all the street bits. New to this site, looking for Oyster if you're around, i see you're the resident expert on these, I've got a serious project in mind and could use some advice and/or work done. Thanks.

I know of one that has just been rebuilt and needs to be run in forst to ensure is working properly but if it is then it will be going up for sale. It's in Wellys, I can get the persons to contact you if you'd like?

Where do you actually live? I can't see anyone taking you seriously if you want to ship an RG150 to LA!

Not being taken seriously is nothing new! Don't worry, the bike will be going to Hawkes Bay. Yes I live in LA, but i'm a kiwi with a plan...

No idea sorry - one of the people involved in selling the RG150 is overseas at the moment so doubt it'll be listed.....

No, that is an RGV - nowhere near as fast or as good as an RG.

Just keep an eye out for wear on the powervalve ports. My RG150 was on original barrel and the powervalves after that time had worn the ports to the point that they would vibrate just a bit. A while after I got it, it broke the collars around the p/valve shaft holding the valves in place and then the valve stem snapped, letting the free floating valve rotate into the path of hte piston which slowly lunched both the valve and piston (and obviously you get a big loss in power since the ports not working properly).

First time it happened I thought it was just one of those things and got some new OEM ones for a pretty penny + oversize piston kit, lasted like 1,500km or so and stem of one of the valves broke again  Oyster worked out what was going wrong and turned me some custom on ones on lathe that fit properly and had no rattle (but were not separate three piece sliding for smooth transition, just single piece so you had a bit of a hole in the power getting up into high revs).

My bike had 40,xxx km's really needed a new barrel..

Cool bikes tho
