the pack getting melted wasn't what amused me, quite logical given the nylon or similar plastic material most are made from, I think it was the trial of burning clothing.

Not me....I was 2 minutes behind the guy having all the fun. Only actually saw one pile of stuff on the side of the road, 2 persons from a 4X4 pouring water over the pile. Wasn't quite sure what to make of it at the time,(people dump all sorts of stuff on the roadside up here to avoid dump fees) till got I stopped by highway patrol just a couple of K south of Blenheim, they were still in the process of finding out what was going on, the 'lucky guy' had just been found just up the road. When I saw the popo car coming towards me and 'light up' with U turn I honestly thought a bullshit speeding charge was about to invented.
