Hi there.
I am in need to get a bike very fast and i need some information to help me get by.
Firstly i need to get a bike, As any keen learner i am keen on a Ninja as they are fairly common bikes and are not that expensive. So i have also been advised to look at a KTM Enduro bike or alike. What i need to know is a good bike for someone about 6"2 and 70 KG's that doesnt have much muscle and commuting from northshore to central auckland on the motorway twice a day.
Once i have a bike sorted and bought i will also need to obtain a license. That i am studying right now. Do i need that Basic handling skills certificate? And for that Basic handling skills certificate do i need my own bike?
And finally once all that is completed i need to also get gear so what brands you recommend and how much i should be spending considering im doing motorway travel at peak hours or nights. Also what are my time frames on a learners on a bike?
Please if i missed anything give me a hand with it and if someone is selling a bike in auckland area that can be delivered to takapuna that interests me?
But anyway.
Thanks

Yes.adfafasdafsdfa
What i was hoping to get out of you was along the lines of, Okay i see you like these styled bikes can i recommend this or my friend is selling one of these. Not just yes.
Why do you bother to put just yes when you dont even have a answer worth anyone's time.
Jesus, i was thinking this was a helpful community.

What people are trying to say is that this question has been asked over and over. Look at some of the older threads for most of the answers, then, if you still can't find what you're looking for, ask a specific question.
Yes was also a pretty good answer...

It is a helpful community, your new, we want to see how your react.
Each of the bikes you have mentioned will have been discussed within these forums at some time.
Enter the name of the bike into the search engine..push go.
The same with riding gear....
The same with lots and lots of stuff.
Dredging the old threads can reveal a heap of information.
But dont feed the trolls.

I suggest trying as many bikes for size as you can
My picks for a tall chap would be:
XJR400
ZZR400
ER-5
EX400
GS500
Also try on a heap of gear and see what you find comfortable, and don't be too cheap with your gear, it may save your life.
As for learning the riding stuffs:
Do your theory and practical and try get in to a training course.
Potter around carparks etc and take it easy.
Welcome to KB, there are more idiots than useful people here, Akzle said he has a large penis.

Yeah, can't disagree with any bikes there. As for gear ... in a perfect world you'd get a good set of everything and then spend what's left on getting a bike. Personally I'm a 'Revit' gear fan but that will just start another shitfight if we get into brands. Just put a value on your body and purchase gear to protect it appropriately.

I cant agree more. I am spending a good 3000 on gear and about 2500-3500 on a bike.
I might even get an old GN250 or 125 just to keep me moving. What ever the case i do value my life very very greatly and dont want the grief for anyone.
I will be doing a lot of motorway travel and esmond road. Well from takapuna to Fanshaw Street

Jesus, i was thinking this was a helpful community.
It is, if it's treated with respect. This community sees hundreds of queries like yours each year. The community gets tired of answering each one individually. That's why some members of the community suggest that newbies full of enthusiasm and themselves use the site's search facility as a starter to answer their general questions before coming back with something more specific.
I have often thought it could be useful if there was a list of most asked questions to stop timewasting and conflict. But nobody would read the fucking thing anyway.

 Apparently KB helps those who first help themselves... There's a reason why there is a helpful section specially for your needs:

Some people ride around for years with no license. I have heard stories about people like that who were stopped by the police and they just told the cops that their license was in their other pants and they forgot it at home.... Some of these people ride bikes like the GSXR1000. If you do decide to go down that track I strongly urge you to get life insurance and write a will. It would also be good if you make it clear that you are willing to transplant your organs.
I recommend the search function, taking your time, following the rules and riding safely. I don't follow that advice myself and the only reason I am still in one piece is dumb luck.

This site helped me heaps when I shipped my ike from UK.
Just be careful who you alienate with a pants showing, hoodie up, socks outside your jeans little sulk.
There's a wealth of knowledge on this site, but being too lazy to do research won't help your cause.
Go for the XJR though.
