View Full Version : Daydreaming on Tard Me!

Monkfish

Im new to being a biker, but I have caught this bug where I seem to spend every waking moment in a delusional state of daydreaming about potential bikes I could own. I then tend to google said bike, find out it's availability & price on tard me and fantasize about what it would be like riding that bike through a range of different situations.
This bug\disease is effecting my work ethic as being at a computer all day seems to act like a catalyist for said delusions & daydreams. :shifty:

Its not that I am activley seeking a cure for this affliction (I quite like this feeling) but I would like to know if this is as normal as the common cold in which case I will develop an immunity or will I have this disease for life?.... Like Herpies.

You appear to have the symptoms of early onset Motorbikeolosis for which there is no known cure.

While there is nothing to worry about, not doing it will only make things worse and some relief can come from carrying out those dreams.

Bwhahahaha .. yeah .. it's incurable .. I'm currently looking at Suzuki GS1200SS .. and daydreaming about how I would customize them a little ... (and the occassional Moto Guzzi)

And yeah ... being in front of a computer all day is really bad and fucks up the old work ethic ...

The only cure I have found is to buy a another bike. Then I fuss over that for awhile, untill I get bored, then I have to start looking again. Up to 3 so far... So its not a permanent cure, but keeps the symptoms at bay for about a year or so. And I usually have no trouble finding people wanting to 'look after' my spear bikes. Finding someone that actaully know how to ride and look after them, thats a different story.

In saying that, only 4 months into my latest bike, and I am already feeling the urge for a dirt bike.

Yeah .. that's my hassle now .. . I know I can buy any bike I like because money is not an issue ... the bank throws it at me ...

The problem is: can I afford no sex for several weeks, sleeping on the couch and many years of shit I would have to put up with from the missus if I bought another bike

She's happy for me to have a new bike - as long as I sell one I already have (and for me that's not an option ...)

I’m a recent convert but I got it bad now. Until I saw the practicality of bikes I wasn’t interested. Whatsoever. As soon as I went for my first decent ride I was head-over-heels-hooked. Boom! It was like nirvana. Suddenly, “Oh, I get it!”

This forum does not help - possibly makes things worse - as the more you learn the more your appetite grows.

I bought another bike which has alleviated things somewhat – but I still have my eye on the pie (Street Triple)…..

Look, ya gotta believe it, there is no cure. You'll just have to dig deep and pretend that the bike you've got is something else for the time being.

I know it's tough but we're here for you and unfortunately, unlike the Harley-D situation, there is no helpline.

I caught the bug a year ago, 25k later I have 3 bikes and still I have a dozen cheap trail bikes on my tm watchlist

But the worst thing is the monthly letter from Kawasaki Finance offering to help me lighten my wallet some more with a new bike (or jetski, yeah right) it's pretty easy to say no since I only have my L and already own a 250 ninja so my options are pretty crap at Kawasaki anyway
