Anyone have the size of MB100 main bearings close at hand?
I can find out but only later in the week, I'd rather visit the bearing shop earlier and use that time putting them and the rod kit in.

Rod kits come with bearings, pins and washers. However if you want better bearings than generally supplied ProX supply some that will fit.
The BE bearing is 20mmID x 26mmOD x 14mmW. The bearing you want is a ProX bearing 202614F. Note the "F" on the end for flat and silver plated.
ProX also do a superior LE bearing. It's dimensionally the same but is listed as a replacement for later model bikes than the MB. It's dimensions are 14mmID x 19mmOD x 17mmW, ProX part no. 21.3205.

Good tips, cheers.
I have a rod kit ready to go, I just need mains at the moment, have you jotted down their sizes anywhere easy to reach?
My engine is 30mins drive away and I'm not going to be able to get to it any time soon.

In case you get stuck I have a new ProX rod kit for a MB100 and the 22.202614F bearing and a small range of LE bearings of a couple of widths.

Ummm, I'm sure he's looking for MAIN bearings as posted, not rod bearings...

I'd need to confirm it but the mains are 6204 and 6228. Both C3, or C4. I like to use phenolic resin cage type bearings, though to be honest I haven't had a problem with the Honda cranks, only in previous Suzuki cranks for some reason.

I did miss the MAIN bit initially. However there are better LE and BE bearings available than what is supplied in the rod kits, as explained.

Hey speedpro, could you please explain what makes the other Lil End bearing superior? is it just the fact that they are silver plated? and when talking about the BE you say it is flat and silver plated. how/where is it flat? (wait, were you taking the piss when you said flat?):pinch:

Not Speedpro but ...
The cage itself is flat on the exterior face. The older M style cage (quite literally a M shape cross section to the cage) is formed to hold the needle rollers in place the flat cage does/is not. Flat cage big ends have greater rigidity and a larger exterior surface reducing stress. Flat cage also has more rollers than a M cage of the same size. Silver coating because silver wears better than copper (probably also has lower friction coefficient or something like that?)
My poor little motor has a standard DT125 copper M cage bigend, first sign of trouble and a flat cage is going in!

Unless the first sign you get involves flying shards of semi-molten metal... :Pokey:

It won't be a problem unless you rev the nuts off it.
