hey there is a group of us going down. The boys are pretty good and I am sure wouldn't be an issue to ride with them/us. I am not super quick but can get by on my own.
PM if you like and I can give you some more details.
Cheers

There's a few of us "mature" riders going too.. should be a good ride as the trails on the Boundary Buster (last november) were in great condition and Offlimits is really well organised (learnt from last years mistakes)! The big question will be how dusty will it be?

Twas pretty damn dusty in November! I can only imagine how much of a dustbowl it will be by the time we're down there with hundreds of bikes..... the main track was unrecognizable from last years backward abortion - all the ruts have been graded out, but Im not sure how it will be come Sat arvo... looking forward to it tho!! whoo hoo!!

With BB there were 30 or so in a group and I can still taste the dust. Think of what 1000 bikes, all going at different speeds will be like.
I hope it will be alright but i still remember the year that desert storm was a dust bowl.
Anyway it should be a blast and the rivers wont be very high.

I liked this part on bike Recovery
Bike recovery is time consuming and expensive. All riders are advised to ensure their bikes are serviced prior to attending the event. Offlimits reserves the right to charge a ‘recovery fee.’ This fee will not be charged for those who are injured but it will be charged if bikes or quads need to be recovered due to mechanical breakdown. A helicopter recovery will be $100 per bike regardless of the mechanical situation. A vehicle mounted recovery where the recovery time is greater than 1 hour will be $50 but this will be dependant on the type of mechanical breakdown. If the breakdown is due to rider stupidity or something that would have been picked up with reasonable bike maintenance then the fee will apply. If the breakdown is something which is unforeseen and not due to a lack of normal maintenance then the marshal onsite can make a call regarding the fee.

There's still time for it to rain.
hopefully I won't entertain the crowd at the fuel station like last year...
See you all there ( bike #787 )

wow, harsh but i can understand why they would do it, be interesting to see if they want the money up front, i had seen them with the helicopter use before and wondered how they were covering the cost,

Well spotted, must tell my mate who's bike always breaks down at Waiourou, never anywhere else but always there... and always a really weird fault.

Latest notice says fire extinguishers are now compulsary

it does not say what is minumum size :(

from their email;
Due to the extreme fire risk, fire extinguishers are now compulsory for all riders 12 years and older.
Extinguishers are the small .3kg ones and these can be purchased at TUSSOCK BUSTER from the Honda Service Centre tents for $35.
So would assume this is the smallest available/allowed. Especially if they are selling them.
We've got ours already and would suggest taking one down so don't miss out.
Also seems that they are looking at tokens for the fuel stops to try and speed them up. They don't want people to fill up tanks but just get enough to get back. Each year they lose money getting the fuel in to the stops.
Now to do another check on the bike....not interested in contributing $100 to them !

Thanks Off Limits. Another successful event and this year it was reassuring to see a lot more marshalls circulating on the tracks, not that I needed them thankfully. Of course the dust will be the main feature for 2013, but out back on the expert loop and Spur Buster the traffic was light and visibility excellent. Much fun!!

That hill climb was solid followed by the down hill back to the main track.
A case of hang on and hope no one had stopped.

Great weekend all round. Very well organised and completely hassle free. Thanks off limits. Yup it was dusty, but with the current drought conditions I'm glad they pushed on and didn't cancel it. It was awesome just to see the area having driven past for so many years.

That looks quite clean. I opened the airbox cover after Saturday to be greeted by a wall of dirt.
No wonder it didn't seem to be running as good as normal.
Good old "No Toil" nothing got through.
