Hi,

I'm looking to get into track days in the 150cc RG class area. Would there be much difference between a RG and a FXR on the track? Is a RG somthing I should be holding out for? Cheers.

eh? You mean for racing rather than trackdays I guess.

150 class racing is still popular in SI I think & an FXR would get slaughtered as its a poxy 4 stroke.

On the other hand an FXR is a perfect bucket & there is a heap of bucket racing in chch (but the RG isn't legal for such).

What he said.

Get an RG if your going to race 150.
Get the FXR if your racing the "Not-quite-race-class-but-has-all-the-race-bits-except-a-decent-motor" 100/125 GP (Buckets?)

Thanks for the replies! What is the performance difference like between a RG150 and a RGV150? Thanks once again.

Lots, to skip to the point; don't buy an RGV150.

Comparing the two bikes directly, he is correct. RG150's are gernades unless treated correctly every couple of years.

Get a hold off the Canterbury club down there and i'm sure someone will point you in a direction you want to go. Be it Buckets or 150's. I would tend to go for a bucket these days, as the 150's are old and numbers are reducing.
