So I had a slow lowside and my exhaust needs welding up :sweatdrop

the weld where the 4-1 meets the pipe to the muffler has popped apart cleanly.

It looks to be a quick job, can anyone recommend somewhere in Hamilton that'll do a 15 minute job and charge accordingly? ie no 1hr minimum labour..

Cheers

If you were up in Auckland I would TIG it up to you for next to nothing, $20 would do it. Any exhaust shop should be able to do it for you though.

Becareful though, the amount of failed welds I have seen on exhausts because people weld them together with mild steel filler wire is nuts. I did a few flanges on a Levin exhaust last week that had all the joints done with a gasless MIG and were birdshit all over the place. Owner paid $800 bucks for a 3' full stainless system, got a 2.5' stainless steel mid pipe that was mig welded to all the old rusty steel piping on the back end then a nice new muffler. Plenty of cowboys out there mate, ask if they are ticketed, if they aren't, go someplace else.

Best of luck

You seriously believe there's guys in exhaust shops that hold current welding tickets?

Good point mate. Especially if they are welding up 304 stainless tube with the cheapest mild steel wire they can find.
The fabricator even thought it would be a good idea to weld this exhaust up in one giant peice, with no flanges at the muffler or headers. Most amature shit I have ever seen

Give Dave at HD cycles a ring and ask him who does his welding - had some work done on my and my wifes bike and good workmanship and good pricing - But I did it through Dave and not directly with whoever did the welds.

I'm fine, one rivet popped off my jeans and a small nick in the palm of one glove. boots and jacket unmarked.

I want to get what i pay for ;) not pay 1hr labour and get 15mins labour.
