Yeah great effort Jay. The time and the speedo show how quick he was going but funny how it kind of looks slow with the video on screen perhaps because the camera lens is a bit too much wide angle.

If we can raise decent sponsor I will happily provide the bike, for the jap classic class at least.

Nah what I'm saying is that the camera doesn't really do that run justice - when the speedo peaks at 295 the camera I am sure shows that differently than what I reckon Jay's eyeballs were seeing it.

This directly after handing the Aussies their arse on a bike that he first rode up pit lane at Phillip isl in qualifying.
The technical term for such riding I believe is "Uber Chur"!!

The speedo is is slightly out as the bike is only geared one tooth lower in the front so the top is maybe 10-15 ks out but its still farking fast

Still fast, oh yes.

But no where near as fast as some of the clueless numpties on this forum may believe after seeing that video.
According to my resources going -1 on the front sprocket of that particular model zx10r will yield %10.8 error (factory error included), so therefore folks 295 becomes 263 (or close to it).
30+ kmh out at those indicated speeds.

Thanks is gracefully accepted.

You also need to take into account that this bike is fitted with a Healtech speedo healer which has been set up to match the sprockets that on on it

yeah it's been setup by me (i'm not the most on to it person when it comes to electronics) to suit the sprockets however i still don't know 100% how accruate it is so i would still say it is maybe 10-15kms out to be on the safe side.

Given the Speedo is corrected (Dave, I didn't realise - now you have scared me!) I'd have to agree with Dave, it is likely 10-15km/h from accurate with wheelspin at that speed. Not to mention the speedo changing leaning from the middle of the tyre (smaller rolling radius), which our mate has ignored. Isn't it funny how some Gripper's on this forum like to try and create a troll over anything they can...I've never understood it.

To me the top speed means nothing, that just comes down to what you are riding. What excites me about doing it is the speed I can carry into the fast corners (and around them). Turn one in particular gets me big time, it sets up the next two minutes with a great shot of adrenaline to get you to the top!

On this run he broke the record by 5 secs, the previous record was also set by Jay and was 2.09 something, The closest person to Jays time this weekend got a 2.14 and i think the closest ever was Drew who got a 2.10.3 or similar.

I can only assume that in light of your posts using the term gay in a derogitory manner and implying that I might posssibly be gay (allbeit with no clue about colour co-ordiation :gob:) that you are homophobic.
I'm slightly dissapointed that you couldn't be arsed doing a bit of homework and reading some of my posts (you don't even have to leave KB) and seem to have plenty of spare time.
If you had you probably would have worked out that:

I'm probably not a redneck, once again I can only assume you are reffering (in a derogitory manner) to various poor uneducated white farmers from the Southern United States
I'm not likely to care that you imply I may be gay - although as a supporter of the gay community I find it offensive that you use the term "gay" in such a derogitory manner ( a bit like John Key on talkback radio  )
A bit further afeild (MyLaps, the Cliffhanger web site) you would be able to find plenty of evidence that I'm a pretty crap motorcycle racer and probably could have got a bit of milage out of exposing that (in a forum about bike racing)
If you did manage to wind me up I am unlikely to resort to threating to give you a kicking (check out the white ribbon link in my sig.)

Once in a lifetime for this silly old coote lol

I had to do it, just for me and me only, so i could say i scared meself on the hill, but in saying that, i was very happy doing just the few runs on the practice day (sat), nothing to prove to anyone else and wasn't gonna break any records on me old speed 3, (someone with a little talent may have been able to make it look better on the time sheet though lol)

So was quite happy to get plastered on sat night and spend sunday watching the nutters do it all again !

Yep, I am assuming you were not there, have never been there and certainly never ridden there and never will. I also assume that you created this KB account less than a month ago solely with the intention of trying to wind people up and being a "gripper" as opposed to most KB users where being a "gripper" is just a side affect of not thinking before they post (myself included).
If my assumptions are incorrect, please correct me on which ones are wrong.

how close were you at 1:39 and 1:41 Jay? you must have been running out of tar?

Probably about 15-20cm between tyre and edge on both those points. Although that was the intention, not a moment. The way the track runs makes it close at those points but the road guides you fine, and if you made a mistake in either point you would just have to go slower to keep that clearance. The fast right about 10/15sec further up (after the bridge and the long left) was much closer - got in too quick and almost ran out of road.
