I guess you don't buy a Harley/ BMW to be reliable ;)

Unfortunately, those who remember the days when Triumph, Norton, BSA (bastard stops anywhere) HD, Duc, Guzzi being highly unreliable machines are all getting into their mid 50's and upwards......

Study probably commissioned by the Japanese dept of export manufacturers or some such similar body.
I get real sceptical of most 'research' studies. There's usually a vested interest in the outcomes.
One example was a study of 12 university students over 3 weeks into the benefits of chocolate. Funded by the American Chocolate Manufacturers Association.
BMW's, I wouldn't associate with unreliability. HD quality is out of sight from their products of 40 years ago.
