This was my first time on this trail ride. It had grassy farmland paths, native bush clay areas, a rocky bit, 3 or 4 stream crossings, some fairly steep ups and downs and spectacular sea views over the Poor Knight Islands and The Pinnacles. Enough of a challenge for me (without doing the well marked "Hard" and "Expert" bits).
The light rain in the early morning cut the dust perfectly.
The track was dry and I even managed a couple of loops without falling off!
The $35 fee included a great steak and onion sandwich (or bangers) and a cold drink.
I've already decided that I'll make the trip again next year.
A few photos from the trail and a few of Wananaki on the way home.
