View Full Version : CRF80 front rimlock?

Hi All,

#1 son currently gets around on a CRF80, and I'm getting fed up with rotating the tyre & tube back around so that the valve isn't pointing backwards. It looks like he spends his time desperately trying not to slide backwards down a hill! Having followed him around a bit, I'm convinced that's not it, but I hear that "they all do that". Is a front rimlock going to work on a wheel/tyre this size (60x100-16" by the time I track down something in this stupid one-bike-only size)? Will it throw the wheel horribly out of balance?

I hear that the CRF100s are similar for this tyre-rotation thing, so I'm considering something else (KLX140?). He's not tall enough yet for our heavy-as CRF150, but it won't be too long, and Mrs wants onto a full-size bike anyway...

Cheers,

pretty hard to put one in teh front of them, most 85's dont even come with them, can be done tho, they do get a fair bit out of balance with them but offroad its not a big issue,
