I was heading up Khyber Pass after work last night, the traffic was heavy as usual. I saw a Stagecoach bus forcing his way into the left lane, as they do. He moved through the next lights, but the exit was blocked. So this Richard Cranium blocks the entire intersection for a complete phase. He's a very lucky man that we don't carry handguns in NZ, there were several cage drivers ready to kill.
So shit-for-brains finally moves ahead, then CHANGES BACK INTO THE RIGHT LANE.
I was stationary alongside his side window by now, so I thought I'd ask him if he actually had a licence. Honestly, this cretin wouldn't have known his arse was on fire unless he smelt burning.
What are they hiring for drivers these days?

But wouldn't that also involve a bunch of innocent bus-riders also biting the dust, or kicking the bucket, or pushing up dasies, or...

I give up.

I was gobsmacked when a woman customer, who is a driver on the yellow busses asked me to back her Teranno out of the workshop for her!! I suppose she doesn't reverse her bus often...but,but....that's the level of skill out there.

When those fuckers pull out on ya- which invariably happens in the city, ride close to their window then smack their side mirror so it's now pointing down. They can't see shit and have to stop to adjust it... Done it a few times and it makes you feel a shitload better. :oi-grr:

And have you noticed they become conveniently deaf and blind when you try to bring their stupidity to their attention? The bus drivers in Wellington are just as bad, they move into the intersection after the light has gone orange (often when it is red) and then block anyone moving. I tooted at one and he just laughed at me - after all, what could I do?

There was a woman bus driver on the Northland/Karori run years ago and she managed to smack her mirror off going through a tunnel! And that wasn't all, the whole left side of the bus scraped along the exit! Priceless!

And I bet she still kept her job after that incident as well.

I have to wonder if they have a competition in bus companies to see who can be the worst bus driver in their companies...

The prize would be.......... a nice new shiney bus to start all over again.

Old workmate of mine (a good few years ago now) called a Yellow Bus driver a bad name , and the large and angry bus driver got out of bus, tapped on his window (which he very unwisely wound down)...smacked him very hard in the mouth, and then calmly returned to bus and drove off. Workmate lost a tooth or three and was then up for dental work at great pain and expense. Workmate sued the Yellow Bus Company..... and lost. Great legal expense added to aforementioned costly dental work. I think there's a moral in there somewhere, but damned if I know what is....

Don't open your window?
Don't abuse BIG bus drivers when you're stuck in traffic?
Learn a martial art?

Be bigger than the bus driver. I had a 'badass' truckie want to fight me in Paramatta one afternoon - till i got off the bike.

As an ex bus driver I can guarantee one of two things happened. He either misjudged the traffic flow and was forced to stop on the intersection, or he may have been running late. Timetables are not determined by bus companies but usually bureaucrates who do not have a passanger service licence and have no idea of driving heavy vehicles.

Bus drivers have enough stress out there as it is without inconsiderate road users shouting abuse at them from people such as yourself who are unable to control themselves in public.

And fucken dangerous. So you get caught in traffic and the bus driver has lost it and rear ends you. There's a simple rule here sunshine. Stood me in good stead for many years. If he is bigger than you back off. Might be time for a rethink on your part.

She shouldn't be driving. There are some who do not have a clue. I give them plenty of room to make mistakes.

I ride through the intersection of Khyber Pass Rd and Grafton Road most days. Buses not only frequently (and purposefully - the traffic is already banked up on the other side of the intersection) block the intersection, but also run the red lights. Who are the inconsiderate road users?

He didn't misjudge anything. He deliberately drove into an intersection where the exit was blocked, and the road ahead for 150 metres. He also blocked right turners at the next intersection. Timetables are not a defence for breaches of traffic law, despite driver's behaviour making you think so.

Too bad if he was late, the people he stopped from going on the green were late too.
He was either incompetent, or an arsehole, or both.

It's hard to believe, but this wanker has done it again. He ran the red from Khyber Pass into Symonds St and crawled across the intersection, blocking Newton Rd traffic for half the phase.
I was amazed to recognize the driver as the same guy at the start of this thread.

Maybe we could all take public transport. And then the only people on the roads would be the bus drivers, so we could leave it up to them to cut each other off and knock each other's teeth out. :sherlock:
