View Full Version : Who is going to win the F4 GP in 2013?

koba
4th April 2013, 17:32
Who is going to take it?
Poll options limit me to 12 categories so I have had to add some as teams/groups.

Please elaborate on your choices.

koba

I think it should have been team shnanny.

And Kel and Ken should probably be in there to, plus others.

Shit, another cool option would have been "ESE - Diesel Division".

And a beautiful team name it is to.

Are you going to do the Bucket version of "Sons of Anarchy" with sawn off shotguns, knuckle dusters, etc...?

I reckon you could have barbed wire strung between both your bikes and play a lovely game of sliceys and diceys?!? :bash:

I voted for Me and D. I just have to believe there is a chance so voting for someone else seams silly. I think this race will be the most hardcore GP in recent years. The start will be everything, also qualifying well to put you in a good spot. The first corner could see a red flag me thinks. Then the second and maybe turn 4 will need some sort of earth moving equipment to scrap the bodes away. So after all that is done sit back and feel the pain for 40 laps of metal and physical destruction. Sugar and caffeine will sort me for 20laps adrenaline will do for another 5 not sure how the rest will work out. If it rains then man that will be interesting not fussed ether way.

This time next week people. Don't forget about your licence.

25 laps and everyone will be able to have a rest while they clear your motor off the track.

I'm really hoping my motor does the distance.

I hope the Medic is as good with his treatment as he is with the guitar, turn one will need a big spatula to remove the mess..

No but last time he was there with his dirty diesel he ensured they'd never have a rust issue on the track surface.

I've decided not to vote as Im not on the list
But seriously I cant choose a favourite. As far as the four strokes go you cant rule out Andrew and Gavin, but then Richs new bike might be enough to put him ahead this year. Regans got the track time with the Nth Island series and Glen Orwin could prove to be the dark horse. Then you have Cain and the Hoogies. But hey you're all on under powered 4 strokes :killingme
The real contenders are the 2 strokes and if they hold together (which is a good chance on this piddly little track) they should comfortably take the entire top 5!

Oh and I can't be arsed coming, have a good one!

So no votes for current F4 champion? Maybe its a tigher track than he usually rides? Or maybe he is in Auckland & his (Dads) bike is in Chch. but could still happens if he shows up. I thought about voting to pull Team fuck you all up even, but it appears you cant cheat & vote twice which seems a bit petty.

The whole thing I believe, I would imagine he is quite gutted, was very keen after the last Round at Roys Hill. Still, 24 hours is a long time in motor racing, things could always change.

Who's got a good sound system for Friday? A few drinks and some good music must be the order of the day. I'll grab mine if no one has a better offer.

What a race. Congratulations to all the finished. After crying about it being 40 laps it was not all that bad. Fitness was down but still not feeling to bad today. Will have the onboard form my bike posted today in a separate Video thread so we can all put the footage in.

Well I felt a bit sad for Rich as he looked class all weekend, but Nathanial was really the one in control. He kept a level head in practice, heck I could keep with him when my 100 was going, but practice has no trophies & he was just keeping things sorted till the race. I was flagging & he looked slow, but was faster if you see what I mean.

My own tale of woe is just an extension of the silly luck I've been having. I was competitive & would have picked up some speed, but clearly this track is so technical you need some decent time & no one is going to win it first visit.

Well except if you are some over talented kid.

I almost put the 50 on the podium in the Tokoroa GP class that I was allowed on to the back of the grid just after the F5 GP. Instead I need a new helmet.

But great weekend, great people, great track.

richban
15th April 2013, 17:28
Well as others have said what a great meeting. Such a cool bunch of people. I had a great time on and off the track. Saturday was a little mixed. I had good pace and was getting quicker as I started to feel the love form the new setup. The only downer was hitting the deck after my front sprocket came off and oil sprayed the rear tyre. It should have never happened and I feel a little embarrassed about the bad bike prep on that one. Still was happy to drop into the hi 42's at the end of the day. Nathaniel and Regan both were dropping faster and faster lap times and all three of us were quite close at that stage. I think I was fastest by bugger all at the end of the day. I new I could go faster so that meant everyone one else would to. Sure enough in Practise Nathaniel busted out some super fast times. Everyone was getting way quicker. I dropped another 4 10ths and the then Nathaniel busted out an amazing 42.2 for pole. Nice.

The Race.

Well I am not renown for my starts so I was glad to be on the front row. Flag dropped and all good. 1st gear then second yeah I am all good then 3rd, what the fuck where is 3rd? there maybe? no there? yep thats it. Shit. While all the was happening the master hole shot king Regan was there and tipping into turn one. Exactly what I didn't want. And so the work began.

Insert video here------------. I am having trouble getting it uploaded and small enough. Won't be long promise.

Anyway great battle with Regan as usual may there be many more.

To not win sux. I really thought I had a good chance. But if anyone deserved the win it was Nathaniel. He has come so close in the past and had some crappy luck. So congratulations to you mate you were all class.

Good weekend and good racing. Congratulations to Nathanuel as Rich said you had been robbed a few times before. Good to have a talk to Nigel at the end of the day also. I was disappointed with my efforts but didn't fall off. Had a problem with the rear brake. Lots of people don't use them but I do. Had Glen and Gavin fall off in front of me. Pleased to miss both of them. Caleb did well getting 6th. All in all great racing. Thanks to the organisers.

Just dredging the thread again, but was thinking the other day

Didn't the F4/F5/Formula Tokoroa split work out well?

It meant it was worthwhile for the other non champ people to enter & trimmed the classes almost effectively (top few excepted) into A & B classes.

Hurrah for the organisers again for coming up with this.
