Advice on springer overhaul

Does anyone here have experience on springer forks??
Im in the middle of a custom build and have a setof forks here, but id like to replace the springs/spring rods with preload and dampening adjustable coilovers,thoughts??
Id haveto add another rocker between the main forks and spring forks to keep them parallel during travel, but appart from this would there be any issue?

There is of course a lot more to this than getting shocks that will fit. The internal valving and the springing has to match the ''motion ratio'' that is applied to them. We do this sort of work all the time but for such one offs we absolutely insist on having the bike. Imparting the correct conception of ''feel'' etc cannot be conveyed via e-mail, phone or even Youtube

Im not overly fussed with how it will perform, as the whole bike is rather impractical and more of a dream toy (think huge rake, hardtail, 3m wheel base)..but aslong as i match the spring rates, mechanically it'd be no worse than an undampened springer??

although the thought of sending it away for work to be done is tempting, i decided that when i started it all the work done i would do myself.. Just a pride thing

ok what type of springer fork do you have?,original hd or aftermarket if you could post me a pic so I can see what you have and I think it would be hard to replace the springs/spring rods with a damper shock but I have seen MTB shocks used to control some dampening mounted in front of springs and rods and hd have done this on there later springers.

The second 1 is just a quick concept, obviously its missing brackets etc but you can get a basic idea of what i have in mind.

ok without a side view they look like D.N.A forks the easiest way would be to get an mtb shock and mount it between the two compression springs this will give you compression and rebound damping,the second pic will also work but you will need a dogbone type linkage from the btm of the shocks to the rear leggs I have seen springers with the front legs taken off and shocks mounted to the btm off the fork with plates welded to the rear legs I'll try and find you some links.
