At the risk of incurring the Wrath of Maha I'm interested to get a picture of this so-called 'sanctity of marriage'.

Shouldn't your first tick box be two ??? Single .. and then another one Married ...
And I've had more than one mariage - so should I be ticking the "single marriage" box ... 'cause I've also been seperated and divorced ..

No, the first box is for those who are still enduring their first marriage.
Your tick should go in the divorced box.

Where is the "E-vorce" option?
When you change your "marital status" on facebook. This can be temporary or permanent depending on the seriousness of the situation.
Temporary;
"Hey you, your status says you are single again, wanna root?
"No, my wife just e-vorced me for the day since I forgot to put the seat down, she will get over it and fix the status later"
Permanent;
Wife: Hey Numbnuts we have to talk.
Husband: Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhargggggh.
Wife: I've decided I just can't do this anymore. So I want an e-vorce.
Husband: Don't say things you might regret later.
Wife: It's too late. I've already removed you from my facebook friends list.
Husband: I see. I'll just pack my digital stuff and move it over to my page.
Wife: Don't worry. I already deleted it

Maybe more suited for NZ Dating or FB where a large amount of the rant stuff posted, is overlooked by the masses of seemingly intelligent humans, or not in some cases.

And what is "Single Marriage"? Marriage, legally, involves two people. Multiple marriage as yet hasn't been legalised. Perhaps next year?

We often thought we'd like to get married for a special reason someday - however, we have been married 32 years because at the time there was a tax advantage for a married man. That no longer applies, so we are married for no reason at all.

You are "divorced". You would be a widower if the lady in question was still married to you at the time of her death. You're welcome.
By the way, we don't have divorces in New Zealand. The only way that a marriage is ended is by a dissolution, and the only way to get a dissolution is to declare to the Court that you have lived apart from your spouse for two years. And your declaration will also include a declaration that you have sorted out your relationship property and custody/access/maintenance issues.
Just so everyone knows.
I'm not sure if I have mentioned this before but one of the more difficult relationship bustups I have been involved with professionally was a a lesbian couple. No real issue dealing with their property, or financial issues but much ink was spilt and fits were thrown about who got the three dogs. Can't split them down the middle, can't take one and a half each, can't do week about really.
It was awful. I don't do the ones where the same arguments are had by people who fucking should know better about their children. Its brutal
