He is just misunderstood and should sue the govt for breaching his rights and making him cry.
Plus the council for planting a tree in his intended route.

Should have confiscated his car, given him a full bike license, and a used zx-14. Would be cheaper than 18 months in prison paid for by tax payers. The bike could still be sold for parts afterwards too. :Police:

That's unfair ... the council planted the tree just off his intended route.

I'd guess that he has a drink problem not a driving problem. Banning him is pointless, imprisoning him is pointless. Sort out the alcohol issue and then take it from there.
After he has stopped burning, obviously.

The guy was given 18 months jail. So will (with good behavior) be out before Christmas. Even with "indefinite Disqualification" ... whats the bet he'll be behind the wheel of a vehicle soon after release. and likely to be stopped pissed over the Christmas period.

Absolutely! These people will only stop when they are physically prevented from getting into the driver's seat. There are only two ways of doing that, prison or death. Okay a 24hr guard, but that's not practical...
"Dealing with the alcohol issue" didn't work, obviously.

The good news is .... we know about him. Those others ... with a similar status ... we are yet to be told/find.
How many more are out there .... in your neighborhood.

Does it matter whether the drunk driver coming at you has 47 convictions or none at all because they have never been caught ...
A drunk driver on the road is just that ... dangerous - first time or 47th time ...
The best answer to this one is shoot him ... he's never going to recover from his addiction ... and if he can't not drive then get rid of the problem ...

Well while he is imprisoned he ain't driving a car. Is it expensive; yes, but how expensive is it having an oxygen thief like him out in the public? If you can't shoot him then keeping him inside is saving on the court cases & Police time that could be used catching other drink drivers etc & the combined saving of the property & people damage of all affected by that, essentially 2 drunk drivers worth every time.
How much does 47 court cases cost? Legal aid on top no doubt.

Always nice to see our Bullshit justice system hard at work<_<
...whats everone's problem??
...Im sure they will "throw the book at him" once he has killed a few innocent people.
But thats our legal system to a tee aint it...the criminals get the benefit of the dought, the criminals get as much support as possble...and the innocent victims & there familys??
Its just rediculas!
...if NZ's courts cant distribute justice, then maybe...WE SHOULD! (Blood for Blood an all that)
(sorry your "cough"..honour!...I must have had a "moment" and killed the repeat offending piece of crap...Sooo sorry!...hit me with your wet bus pass of justice!...:shifty:)

Maybe there is a case for a wrist band EMP? Locked to his wrist so that whenever he approchces a car it kills the ignition...:niceone:

points ign would foil that, unless we are talking thermo nuclear blast type EMP.
Send him to N.Korea for some testing.
Heck what would happen to this guy in most other countries?
Send him to Oktoberfest with some beer & hire car vouchers.
