Just wondering what kind of wheels are preferred in that part of the world:

('course it might be that those that still ride an MVAugusta don't have a PC)

First you ask what are your preferences, then you ask what have you owned/own.

I have my preferences alright, but being a learner I don't get to come close to getting my grubby little hands on the drool stuff. :devil2:

 AND YOU FORGOT KAWASAKI!!! :oi-grr:

Careful !, you'll get 18 pages of why the GSXR1000 is the bike to get .

Personaly, got sold on Ducati's after a visit to Bologna (and seeing an 851 at the local bike shop early ninthies), Lot's of smiling Itailians hand assembling the bikes (and the stunning tour guide !) and the fact that the techincal lead of Ducati Corse came out to anwser a customers question that the tour guide wasn't able to answer. This is one of the few factories in the world were you can see your bike being built (Pre order). :woohoo:

Had a love / hate relation which with a Kawasaki in the past (13 years), and absolutey got done with the price of new crank for a 250 two stroke (close to 2K NZD) when it required a rebuild. That put me off the brand for a while. Seem better now going by peoples reviews here. 636 would be the pick of the bunch in my opinion.

huh, just realised, I've owned 4 bikes, one of each of the big guns.. yama peewee50, GSXR250, CBR250 and 636.. all fun bikes.. but I didn't realise until after I clicked the three I checked, which didn't include yama.. so add me to that..

This has been done before. There are so many good models across the makers, you can't just pick one. UNLESS YOU ARE VERY ONE EYED (Like a Gixer) :motu:

('course it might be that those that still ride an MVAugusta don't have a PC)I think it's more a case of those who ride MVAugusta can't afford a PC after they paid twice as much for a bike.

Spoken like a true statistician/epidemiologist aware of confounding! :) Well done.

Only owned one bike unless you count my 'estate' (ie. my parents belongings) in which case there's a Kawasaki, a Honda and a Yamaha in there too.

Yet. There's plenty of time for more bikes though. And it would seem that the moment you get one - you start planning for the next. What's with THAT? I've had a few cars and I'm never 'looking for the next' one...

Without turning this into a GSX-R thread... It would have to be GSX-R or Suzuki...

I don't know which of you jokers :spudflip: added Kawa and exotic other (as the limit for peons seems to be 10 choices) but thanks.

In any case it's interesting to see what is bought in countries that don't produce their own bikes and vehicles (as far as I know)

For instance you see more Chevrolet and Cadillac in Switzerland than you do elsewhere ('course they're still working on the Hispano-Suiza)

Seems like Japanese (generic) seems to be the choice, but the comment on seeing the bike built and questions answered by the tech in the Ducati plant, warmed my Italian heart.

Thanks.
Mike.

Gidday Mixer Im quasievil a man of great wisdom foresight and talent , unfortunetly most of the other on this site are dillusional and representative of the lower motorcyling classes in New Zealand.
You are lucky I noticed this thread as my opinion is one which you can rely on and take as ..... well gospel.
The best and most favoured, most sought after and certainly the best performer and looker is without question the kawasaki, particulary the ZXR636 2005 model.

So there you have it, if you have any more questions you now know who to ask.

Oops, must have been a freudian slip. :sherlock: ,sorry.

And consider that about half of MotoFastidio drives Guzzi.

(Half being the one guy that own 32 of them).

Sorry again, but as most of you must know, there's only 10 choices, and I chose the ones that came to mind most readly.

Guzzi by the way is another plant that lets people in to see them being built.

Indeed. A machine repeatedly given a hiding by a trio of Gixxer thou's and a lowly, falling to bits, TL last week. You ARE a star Quaz.

So there you have it, if you have any more questions you now know who to ask.

Yeah. The unquestioning Gixxer fanatics. Not only are they unbiased, but they're normally way out in front of everyone else, therefore they MUST be trustworthy.

Gixer riders do seem to go on a bit don't they, just over compensating I guess. Although I do kinda like the front end of the current gixer, but then they have to spend a fair bit of time making the front look good coz thats the part ya see when ya look into your rearviews (aka suziviews), another reason why the 05 has the worest looking rear of current litres, no one ever has to ride behind it for long.

Being in the auto industry I received a rag the other day with a break-down of new bike sales. Suzuki head and shoulders above the rest, from memory the GN250 was #1 and the GSXR1000K5 was #2. If anyone is interested I could be more specific.

Don't worry, it seems a few of the dealers in NZ can't manage it either.
