Sweet. 8 sounds good to me.

I will be there. I expect it to be very popular if the weather is fine or mostly fine.
Rain and showers predicted this weekend and during next week, so it may still be damp by the 12th.

Was looking at them on anothers bike at the Waimak yesterday, they look like they might be ok, worth a try and IIRC about $90 to $100. Could be a bugger to fit if the HT's are anything to go by but I hear they are looking at that issue at the moment.
I've only used the H/T front and both H/T and I/T rear.
S12 sound like the bees knees, work well even when rounded off, pity they're not DOT approved. If I was going off road and transport to tracks by Van only for winter I would try s12's both ends.
I have fingers crossed to be picking up a Perelli Extra X front from DAS this week, DOT approved and said to be a good all rounder yet less likely to shed the side knobs at the Waimak than some other options I looked at.

Cool. going into town for work Thursday. Not far from tracktion so will go see what the have on the rack. The Midas c17 Linton recommended last time I bought a front have done ok but second front centre knobs are well worn. want something a little more dirt worthy. AC 10 is another dot option.

Dirtzone (Cnr Wordsworth and Hawdon Streets, Sydenham) stock the MotoZ too, was where I got mine from. Haven't actually looked at Tracktion's tyre stock.
I have a new Mitas C-17 ready to go on but wanted the next level of wet grass/mud for the farm rides is why I've not put it on.
Probably use the C-17 for the Queens Birthday Otago run, might finish off the MotoZ H/T front with the Transalp.

New Tyres are good, make for a fantastic ride and an almost perfect day riding.

Video of last years ...
Whos that handsome chap in the thumnail of that vid?
I hear it was a great day! Bummer to have missed it, I didn't ride at all, I really needed a day of rest. Any pics/vids TA?
I've got some footage of this year.
I'm fairly new to the edit process, and still using free tools to do it.
Note to self - lower the pressure in the front tyre to help shed all the clay BEFORE you fall off twice :)
Short loop: http://youtu.be/jiZVh2DotL0
Note: youtube compress the files and the quality you see even on 720p is a lot lower than the mp4 I uploaded.

Will have a decent watch after work but seriously... my first fall was at the first sun in the eyes decent bump 30 seconds from the start of your video. I missed the track and went up a grassy step next to it.
Couple of almosts on the side loop later but only the one actual pick it up off the ground moment.
Ran 10psi each end and checked the rimlocks before departing the carpark. Brand new tyres probably helped me in the confidence department too. The whole time I was being spat off on top of that first bump I was thinking wow these tyres have a heap more grip than on the last ride.. as the thing leaped about throwing me off balance and eventually just plain off.
10 psi rear, but 14 psi front, in a tyre that is more suited to dry/rocky terrain.
You will see that my problems were near the end of the lap on the steep downhill, which was run as an uphill last year.
After I lowered the front to ~11psi, it was working much better.

Got a short bit of video from my first lap this year with a hill novice providing a bit of entertainment. Got my big incident at the start too.

Half the footage is from my first lap, the other from my second later in the day when the sun is lower.

Camera position is very good Dent, shows more bike attitude than mine and still see the horizon, but I'm only skimming your videos, 34 minutes and 46 minutes of only lightly cut video is not my cup of tea but if someone had time and wanted to see more of the track they can thanks to you. Maybe that gives a better impression of what the ride is like in full.
I hear what your saying about watching the whole lap. I'm certainly not intending to do that every ride :)
I enjoyed your highlights clip.
I agree that the camera position is good - I would like it to be forward a little to get less of the helmet in the view, but the available space for the adhesive pad limits things a bit - especially once you take not interfering with the goggle strap into account.
The camera is a GoPro3 Silver, in 1280x960 wide mode. I've been attempting to learn Lightworks for editing.

Several clips of sliding around, falling off, or nearly falling off - and I meet the locals.

lol, hey Dent, I actually just watched most the long extra loop video of yours while eating tea and now the latest highlight one.
The locals were standing all over the track in exactly the same spot where that little pipe lies in the dirt across the track when we came round. We had to make them move too.
Am I correct in thinking you had a couple of others half riding with you but not in the camera view most of the time?
It actually looks like you'd fit in well with myself and the guys I ride with anytime you want to. I'd happily ride in front of the camera to add that dynamic to the videos too.
I actually made cooneyr go in front of me for most of our lap 2 just to help show the terrain better by having a bike bouncing about in front of me, though your video's setting using the taller aspect picture helps there anyway.
I was going to do some more work on a lap 2 video today but ended up wasting the day watching movies and movie trailers instead.
Are you doing much of the up n coming rides?
I have half a mind to do Oxford again but then if it's all snow and ice again I'm not sure I can be bothered and with limited funds for entrys at the moment I might be better checking out the Okuku Pass one 9th June or the Blackridge Park, Gretta Valley (of which I'm just about to watch on YT too).
I was riding with a friend on a ktm most of the time, when we can keep track of each other. I did the long loop by myself most of one lap when I lost him. He is far too good a rider to actually fall off on camera :)
I'm likely to be at Oxford if the weather is ok.
I've checked myrides and there don't seem to be any upcoming Suzuki Trails rides listed.
Blackridge park has a fairly short enduro loop. My footage of that is from another friends camera. Its maybe 1/3 of the loop.

The same man hoping over the log just caught on the edge of the screen at one point looked like he knew what he was doing.
The Okuku one is run by the cody riders as I'm sure you've seen on myrides. I can't see any info on them or the ride online but I'm sure it was done last year as well.
I quite like the rides not Suzuki sponsored, not done by Grenville as the often seem quieter... not that the Port Levy one felt too busy at all anyway... and they are still a little cheaper than the Grenville rides too.

...... Oxford ...... Okuku Pass ......... Blackridge Park.......
I was thinking that you should stick your GoPro chest mount harness on me one day and see how that works out. I am keen to see the lap two footage though ;)
Changing your mind about Oxford aye. Go on, the ice and snow is good for you:baby: I'm still under family orders (self endorsed) for rest of May and June as you know.

Thanks for passing this on. I watched your footage and was hoping for a bit more. Might have to check it out one day but does seem pretty short.
