What is the reason for this, who is funding it?
Are you trying to promote the shit or show people that it is indeed shit, nasty shit. Not an opinion more an observation after seeing the crap my brother inlaws had with his 16 year old who thinks its great stuff.

I've resently tried the stuff so I could have an informed opinion that I knew wasn't biased.
It's fucking horrible crap.

I live too far away... and I hate the shit too. Had a wee stint, 3 or 4 months or so trying different brands and finally when I found one that was "ok" (FTP), they yanked it.
What are they going to make you smoke? Or is it a private party to prove your avatar wrong? If it's the latter, I'll be up, erm, yeah, in about 10 hours.

Shouldn't another basic requirement be the will to walk, get a lift or use public transport to/from the trial.

The will to walk is sadly lacking in today's society. And yesterdays society too ....
Tomorrows society isn't looking that flash either .. <_<

I tend to lose the will to walk about two thirds down the first joint. Unless for food.
I'll walk miles for a hobnob.

Unfortunately the opportunity to hang out with Gina, free food & $20 doesn't stack up against a whole freaking day without decent Cannabis and the potential headache from being a Guinea-Pig. Trust me though, if I was single...

Well, they give you $20 for petrol, so guess you're supposed to drive

I heard an interview with the head of the drug & alcohol foundation a while ago and paraphrasing here but he said the new stuff's worse than the old stuff as the makers try to work around the bans and legislation. He asked - who could possibly have forseen that, oh wait they told the govt that would happen (as did numerous other groups).

Why we have to lobbys beyond me,best thing we could do with the shit is tell those that we pay to make decisions on our behalf that if its to be readily available then there children/grandchildren have a daily intake and then get them to make a decision after 6 months, fucking simple really.

The purpose of the focus group is to see what the product is like... How is it experienced? Is it enjoyable? How strong is it? Does it make you hungary? Happy? Excited?

BZP... I once tried that stuff in pill form and was moderately pleased with the effects. Longer lasting than coke and without turning me into a complete wanker. Hot peppers? I have a few that I need to remove from the garden. I must have a wee read. Rather that than pop over the road to Mr Plod, smack him in the face and inhale deeply... he's a jolly nice fulla.

I think it's to sit round, have a bit of a giggle, and battle munchies.
(Not quite sure of the effects of the synthetic stuff, but the group giggle was always fun.)

Why?
To boost sales?
Or to improve spelling and grammar?

Owned, that spelling/grammar was pretty shabby :(
And no this is not profit driven - all things being fair and equal it should have been regulated etc before it was able to be marketed/sold but hey thats so not what happened. Carrying out control trial groups across the available range makes sense...the outcome will be one part of the bigger decision with regard to potential Legislation going forward.

The dairy thing has got to stop.
Technically, smart drugs and synthetic drug use policy is a sensible way to move forward.
It seems only now Kiwis are really starting to think and talk about it.
A bit like computers, its new, and youth are leading the way in educating their parents and older adults who have never been in a legal high store.
In the 80's before red bull even, I was crushing up herbs from Dragon Space and putting them in capsules for my friends, totally legal and very very popular.
Guarana cola ginkgo based little scalp lifters...
If I really wanted to, you could design a whole range of herbal concoctions that would be popular recipe's for different moods and situations.
Funeral blend, rugby world cup blend, election blend, friday night blend....
To add credibility to the industry, (as well as getting out of corner stores) a move away from smoking highs to pills and liquids/drinks, as smoking will always struggle to keep up with harm minimisation, which is becoming more relevant every year.
Same as cannabis product. Hash or vaporisers should become the standard for smoking, as harm from burning whole leaf is considerably more
I mean who chugs down jugs of 3% leon rogue or big bots of custard top anymore?

Branding I guess... if booze were outlawed, people would have 'synthetic booze' on the shelves so fast our heads wouldn't have time to spin  Or maybe it's actually a synthetic THC?

It made sense to a few that a test would be done by a Radio announcer ... ON AIR ...
Probably (in hindsight) ... not the best decision in regards to potential legislation approval being considered.
