Yes indeed all kudos to Suzuki NZ for putting the money up front to make this possible, and I have to wonder aloud why no-one else has posted to express their thanks to them??????
It amazes me with Sky that you can switch between 4 sport channels and at the same time they are all showing rugby, add to that a dedicated rugby channel. And for our compelling viewing pleasure they put on darts, snooker etc. Whats next, Morris Dancing!?
Without Suzuki NZs input ( and thats totally about the enthusiasm of CEO Tom Peck ) Road Racing in NZ would be at an abysmally low level. The old adage ''whats wins on Sunday sells on Monday'' no longer really applies in our tiny market and this messed up world. In brutal economic terms the considerable money Suzuki NZ have put into road racing over many years doesnt stack up and its highly dubious that in a market dominated hugely by farmbike sales that it positively impacts on their sportbike sales. Against especially the most target markets it is in fact a huge loss they are incurring and anyone who grizzles about where the ''line in the sand'' exists about level of support needs to get a grip on reality.
SNZ is a local company employing local people and have a chain of dealers employing locals and serving the local communities. They are putting money back into the local communities. Think about that the next time you order parts offshore or make disparaging remarks about the Suzuki product.

Sheezzz.... I was gunna say 'Is it the time of the month Robert?' But went back and re-read your post. You are right, money spent on advertising is hardly ever re-couped. I spend close to $100,000 a year - but if I didn't, would I still make the same turn over?
Quite rightly, it is the internet and NZ laws on importing that is undermining NZ.

Hope they didn't pay too much. They will be struggling to get 5 minutes worth of highlights out of a motogp race. I guess the other 20 minutes can be filled with moto 2 and 3.

Well I'm pleased, and grateful to Suzuki NZ. As has been said, they have long supported racing in NZ, and putting MotoGP on mainstream Tellyland, raises the profile of all motorcycling to all NZers - and I think that's a great thing! Thanks Suzuki :clap:

i've enjoyed TV coverage of the GP's for years, better than waiting up and falling asleep for the odd hours it was live on sky

May be it is the racing itself that puts you to sleep....
Some of it I fell asleep even after recording it to watch the next day.
