I'm new the KB world and was told to come here to introduce myself. I am a 24yo female and have recently acquired a new 2008 Yamaha Scorpio 225, - L plate on the back of course! :2thumbsup: this is just as a beginners bike for now (undecided on my style preference) as this is a new hobby for me and I want to see how it goes... I used to be into horse riding but sadly can't keep a horse in the garage. During my daily commute to work I enviously watched motorcyclists zoom past me and thought; "I want to try that!"
I am a complete beginner so I am looking to build confidence riding with knowledgeable riders and/or people in the same boat as me. I am keen to meet up and go for rides and for someone to teach me a few skills!
Any tips/feedback welcome.
Thank you for reading!

Hi Sarahg and welcome. Lucky for you there's a few groups around Auckland that will support and help you as you learn to ride and become experienced. I'm sure some of them will make themselves known to you.

Welcome to the site Sarahg ... too late to back out now ... you're OUR's ...

Plenty of riders in the similar state of learning ... it wont take long to find out who and where they are.

Hello, I live in Pukekohe. Happy to go riding with you on Sundays. Maybe around the Hunuas for a start.

Thanks for the welcome everyone!

As for Hunua... That would probably be my version of the 'Isle of Man' right now :killingme :weep: I'm originally from Pukekohe so I'm working my way up to a trip out there soon on the next fine day, so definitely keen to ride sometime! It would be great to get tips from some one familiar with the roads out South etc.

Otherwise it seems like SASS is a go.. hopefully I'm sassy enough by then!!!!!

As per below, thanks for the offer and it would be great to get your advice on the roads out to Pukekohe etc, do you prefer to go through Karaka or Bombay?

If you are not comfortable with the hunuas then we could go out through Pukekohe towards the back roads out there where the roads are not as twisty. Im happy to meet you in Manukau somewhere. Then we take the Drury Turnoff and the back road to Pukekohe. Could go back to Manakau from there or ride the back roads. Whatever you are comfortable with.

This place is being taken over by learning rider chicks.

What happened to our disharmonious sausage fest, and who keeps putting computers in the kitchens of these women's houses?

Welcome Ms G

Thanks!! I'm enjoying it so far! It has definitely put up with a fair bit from me already. I live in Manukau so I'm keen to go straight to the meeting point in the old council car park. Do you ride to Takanini?
I was thinking I would come along next Wednesday :) are you going next week?

I only do every second week when I can now. My partner needs me around after an accident last year. I wont be there next week sorry but if you ask on the Sass thread somebody else may be able to ride in with you.

We ride from Takanini around some back roads then end up back at Manukau for the carpark stuff. I work by the airport but live in West Auckland.

Sounds good thank you, I will take you up on the offer to go with someone to Takanini as that would help me, when the time suits. The council car park is just around the corner for me so I can just ride straight to the lesson.
& sorry to hear about your partner's accident.

Haha I'll try to make it next week but I will go straight to Manukau.

Otherwise, we can organise a time in the future (that suits you) to meet up then ride out to Takanini? It would be great to go with someone out to Takanini as it gets darker now etc. Thank you!!! :)
