Still lots of people who trot out the "Labour was the most corrupt government ever because HC lied about painting a picture/telling a driver to speed/......etc etc.

This is what true corruption looks like

So, the government has unveiled its deal with Sky City. National will give them enormous regulatory concessions, including 230 new pokie machines, an extension of their casino licence, and cashless gambling, and in exchange they'll get a flash new convention centre to run their election-night parties in. To add insult to injury, Sky City's profits are guaranteed, with a compensation clause in the event that any future government wishes to tighten gambling regulation.

Mind you - what do Labour say about it ..
.However, Labour's David Shearer, could not say whether his party would attempt to back out of the deal if it won the next election.

and this sums up my and many others opinions of Labour....

And this is why people don't give a shit about Labour any more. They stand for nothing, they offer nothing. They're just a party of self-aggrandising chickenshits in suits. When it comes to a choice between protecting the poor, and protecting the regulatory-subsidised profit the rich extract from them, they'll be "responsible" and choose the latter. And then they'll arrogantly call us "apathetic" when we refuse to soil ourselves by voting for them...
but the msm and those nat inclined still call labour "left wing", "communist", etc etc..........

No, it's generally because they illegally used $800k of taxpayers money and then changed the law to make it ok.

Can't really blame them, when they trot out policy like they did to sabotage the MRP float.

Everyone has their price, the love of money is nothing new at all

This country was founded on whales, seals then meat from farm stock.
You didnt expect things to change did you? 'Merkins were in big numbers too in the early days....

Still plenty of fat whales to be harpooned!

When you touch shit, it sticks to your hands, so everything else gets some shit on it, and they touch and pass, eventually everyone has shit on their hands.

Aaah, so the convention centre is only for hosting National party election night parties? I didn't know that.
I agree then, that is an abomination.

I was under the impression it is meant to generate business into its local regions (such as having a place where events can be hosted so that there will be visitors spending money in the area, like delegates eating in a restaurant and paying GST, for example). How silly me.

Regarding Labour party, though, it would be great if they could think of creating jobs by creating business that generates tax income to grow the nation's economy. Last time they were in power, they created jobs by simply hiring more and more public servants, resulting in budget blowout with no net increase in tax. Lucky they were not in power during election, otherwise we'd be like Spain or Greece. But I'm sure next time they'll do better, right?

As long as the government budget will not be spent on subsidising or controlling the electricity price, that is. Or to plug the investment gap in power generation because no non-government investors would be willing to invest in it due to the electricity price control proposed policy by Green/Labour.
Then again, noone would be stupid enough to vote just for the sake of $300 cheaper power per year, right?
We're a developed nation. I'm sure we're smart and educated enough.

Go New Zealand!
