Hi All,

Would like to pass on these 41mm flat slides to someone who can use them. I had purchased them hoping they would fit onto my yzf1000 motor but they do not, sadly.

Originally bought new and fitted to a fuel injected r1 motor a year or two ago, and then I bought them a few weeks ago but cannot used them (yet)

Price is firm. $1250.00. could deliver in Dunedin and ChCh and anywhere inbetween but you would have to wait until I do my next mission up to chch.. but it is an option.

Listed on trademe as well but price is slightly higher on there.

Any questions just ask, not sure what year r1 the carbs were fitted to, but I think around the 03/04 mark.. if that helps you figure out whether the carbs will fit your bike or not.

From what I gather they can be modified to fit anything but the details are not clear and I am not keen to try it myself.

What about them is wrong? It's not a huge job to space them differently, it's just fiddly.

bowl round.. haha..

the main thing is the whole bank is too narrow for my yzf/fzr units in the chair.. the outside 2 carbs need to come out a bit.. the 2 middle are close but probably also shift outward a little bit..

R1 injected motor must have its cylinders or something closer together? or whole unit is narrowerer than than fzr or yzf thunderace units.

edit: failed at trying to find info on spacing them online.. if anyone has a good link to detailed info then feel free to link it up please.

It's not a hard, or expensive job to re-space them.
Look it up with people running 4AGE Toyotas on cars and Ford ZETEC, Pinto, BD series etc (common in the Ewe Kay)

Look, first google result I got http://www.xrtwo.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=88057

Don't try and talk him out of selling them...for South Island circuits and that motor they're too big anyway.

The money will be better spent elsewhere.

I have it from one I trust, that your shit is in one sock when it comes to the motory engine thingies. But too big? Not if you get hold of one of his heads and 'enhance' it.

I don't think he's ever gonna find another set for what he paid for those, so it's a flase economy to sell them unless he wants to repower the thing completely...Which would be a flase economy given the number of spares he has for what he's got.

Hi there,

just worried why fuel injected bikes having Keihin carbs as well

Only the 1998-2001 R1 is carbed and having Mikuni carbs as stock or you upgrade them to Keihins FCRs...From 2002 you have fuel injection right

Do you have a link for your trademe offer because there are no Keihins for sale :msn-wink:

Or can you post me some pictures of the actual state of the Keihins per PM please.

I have a carburetted R1 and would be keen to get a nice set

Cheers
Andy

A guy without a clue, took fuel injection off an R1 motor. Put these on it, and put it in a sidecar...with limited (at best) skill.

Why would you go on trademe? He has them listed cheaper here.

Yea, when Beresford and Steur had it I think it had 37 or 38mm on it.. the info is somewhere in the folders I have.. Would be curious to try them out though if I can..

Yea you googled the right thing I guess, I was googling 'how to respace keihin carbs' and fuck all was coming up but forums with crap advice.
It does look doable now actually.

yea had a read up and a think.. just pinch all the stuff off the stock carbs and put em on the flat slides? might have to muck around a wee bit..I can probably make something work..

Be pretty hard to get a set better than these without buying brand new, doubt the sidecar did more than 20-30 laps with these on it before the owner decided not to race anymore

Bit of thinking about this, they'll come mighty close to fitting straight on the blade bro. Camchain off to the side, same as the R1 like.

Just saying.
