I am an international student from China. Now m doing master degree in auckland uni. When I was a child, I started watching motoGP. Because of the f**king stupid policies, we cannot ride moto in the city.
After getting off the flight, I decided to buy one. Last month, I got the first bike in my life, 2010 Honda CBR125, lol. Of course, m a learner, but m improving fast.
I want to make friends with same interests, haha. Plus, I cannot find auckland uni moto club, so m here. lol
Thank you for reading, nice to meet u guys

Can't believe you are not allowed to ride motorcycles in cities in China? Is is just too crowded and dangerous or what is the reason for this policy?
But good on you for getting a bike now. How long are you going to stay in NZ?

Something to do with crime reduction, if I remember correctly. A lot of motorbikes were used for snatch-and-grab crime so in some cities they are banned from CBD areas.
Or something like that.

Just like marmoot said. first, most of rider never keep rules, over speed, no one wears helmet, so riding is more dangerous than driving. Of course, there are many stupid drivers on the crowded road, u know what I mean. second reason is crime, they always rob people because the bike has no register,no plate, no characteristics.
For me, m not sure how long i can stay. For international students, we have one year search work visa after graduate. If I can find a relevant job and meet the requirements like position and salary, I can stay as longer as I can. I like this place, the Chinese society and relationships between people are very complex.

Yea, you are right. Even though people can buy bike and ride, they will never get plate, of course, worry about be caught by the police and fine
