As the title says. Need a brake cert for compliance but the cost from some of the shops are outrageous.

Cheers

Can you tell us the whole story?

Well I need a brake cert. One shop said it was going to cost $80 which I though was a bit steep. I am just seeing if any one knew any small time guys that could do it for less.

So what's your modification that you need a brake cert?

I guess you put a few nice Brembos on your bike so it's worth to spend $350-$450 for a LVV certificate/ LVV plate from Mr. Neil Fraser/Fraser Cars?

Put some more parts on and it's nearly the same price for one or five mods :msn-wink:

Then additional costs for your WoF to register this plate with your modification and you are good to go :Police:

So I guess $80 is fine ha?

Putting some AP Racing caliper/discs on my car requires full LVV cert for $460...so I don't know what's the story about your brakes so far.

That's my experience with my car mods and my custom bike stuff...:niceone:

You can do a brake cert yourself. No qualifications required.

I've generally done my own. Normal case is sign a form declaring what the factory spec min disc thickness is and what the current measurement is. Job done.

All im doing is re-registering a trail bike which the rego had lapsed on. I found some one to do it for a fraction of the cost that the main dealers were charging. Mods can close this thread now if they want.

If you'd posted the whole thing at the start it could have been done for free... no point holding back pertinent information.
