There is one on TM at the moment,http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=593264921
Spending money on it depends on if you want to keep it or not and what state its in. Pictures would be nice.
Don't see many of the Daytona Orange ones.
cheers John

They were the bees knees of Beemers back in the '70s. Me thinks will increase in value.

That seems quite a high price .. not sure I would pay it .. it may well be a good price for a collector bke .. but too much for a ridign bike ..
Downs- irl ... If it's Orange then HDC might just have to stand in line ... I loved them when they first came out (but then, I'm not convinced I wnt another BMW ...)

Like it or not they are all collectors bikes now. Recent articles in Classic Bike and a few others have simply added fuel to the fire and prices are on the up. Good original is what the market wants followed by correct restoration and its becoming an international market if you are prepared to ship overseas. Not many people buying them to ride these days.
Not that many come up for sale.

I love old BMW's but that at $9850 isn't even within 15% of reserve. Therefore reserve will be $11589 or more. I would think around $12500 should buy it but you never can tell.

Isn't an R90S just a tarted up R90/6 using a few bits BMW had lying around so they could clear out the parts bins?

Hardly matters - once the original maker starts making 'tribute bikes' you know the prices of the real deal are headed for the sky...

Pfft - I guess the new Hinkly bonnies could be the exception but then look at the prices of good 650 twins these days - yikes....
Oh - and yes - I resemble that remark...

It could compete with the late model Ducati Paul Smart and MHR Replicas for ugliness (and probably win)

The one on TM would appear not to have been worth 12K nor was the 73 Commando.
Edit: no the Commando did sell for over 13K it would appear.

Of course there is the R90s's successor the R100S, also on Trade Me, doesn't have the same pizzazz.....
http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/motorbikes/motorbikes/classic-vintage/auction-598219055.htm
( overpriced, as really only a 4-5 k bike....if that)
and only 2 years away from cheap $120 ish rego, saving you $400 a year.

yes and I have it on good authority that it didn't even run properly, needed new carbs.
The 73's have /5 bits on them and they are the first ones so seem to fetch more, the 76 is probably the better machine. The made 15 000 plus of them so
they are hardly rare.
