Clutch lever just gave up on me, the bolt that holds the lever in has snapped at the thread

Where do i find a new or preferably 2nd hand one in the wellington area?

So an OEM bolt has broken, resulting in an inoperable clutch lever and you would prefer to replace it with a second-hand item?

Nope oem part has broken due to me being a ruff cunt when I replaced the oem levers and bteaking the bolt n then I put bolt back in with 2 lines of thread left. Which workd sweet for couple weeks but now its given up

Make up your fucking mind mate. And I don't believe I've made any mention of my mechanical skills. You have. I simply tried to do you a favor by saying you shouldn't be working on your bike. If you can't handle the truth and want to fuck your bike and/or yourself...no skin of my nose.

thanks bman iv been tinking along those lines to but by the time i put time and effort into finding the right length bolt with the right thread to go through the lil bit of thread in the bit it goes into and the right sized tube to make the sleeve i might just wait till tomorro and find the real deal. and anyway acording to some people rangying it up would leave by bike a death trap and could bring down humanity in its wake

I can have a looky to see if I have one.
But, it'll be 50c for the bolt from a shop anyway...

If I remember right (I never do) it'll be an 8mm shank thingy and an m6 thread?

Or hey if you're going the bodgie route, might as well just string it up with cable ties.

no there not,

that bolt fits all the Ninja 250R's from 08 on, and the new Ninja 300's as well,

the genuine one is ex japan, but i would be suprised if you could not find an aftermarket lever perch bolt that would do the job, even if it was till the genuine one turned up,

 He means he can't be fucked or doesn't know how

Part number 92154-0066 and yes it's M6
Find a bit of tube, cut the tube, put an m6 bolt it it, save $ and time.
Should be the same as GPX250s, ZZRs etc etc most use the same perch and run a lock nut underneath

Nearly as good as a Katman thread, this.

Anyhoo, nearly every bike workshop will have a couple lying around that will fit. Fuck, I've prolly got three or four in my shed.

How the fuck did you snap the thing? Jesus man, how tight do you think it could be done up in a cast aluminium perch? Yer lucky that didn't snap instead, would have put my money on that being the weakest link in the equation, rather than the bolt.

I've found that if you put a locknut on with a lock-washer, there ain't no way that will come undone if it's tightened correctly.

I'm not a fan of loctite, that stuff can be a pain in the arse.

You could of just brought a standard replacement clutch lever and perch for ~20$ from TSS or Boyles, they fit most things. I find boyles really good. Mainly a service/parts shop.

And yes your a retard for pushing so hard on a spanner that you broke a bolt without realising there was a locknut underneath.

Nevermind you got it sorted.

Flame a guy when he asks for help, wasn't exactly a TTY high tensile steel bolt, small bolts like this break all the time especially around the exhaust manifold. Lost count how many I have had to weld back in place for people.

P/T, we've all done some dumb shit I'm sure (I too owned a kawasaki once), just learn from it, and in future don't put as much torque on a wee bike bolt as you would on the bigger car bolts you're used to.
