Tomato Sauce on toast and a strong cup of Tea seems to do it for me...weird but true.

Seems to be about taste for me, as a young fulla, even leftover pavlova would be suffice.

I find that anything citrus (though the craving is very strong) will bounce without 10 minutes of consumption...must admit, it tastes just a sweet second time round .

You have to mix a still warm dog turd with ice cold water and down it in one. Some reckon adding a raw egg helps but to be honest I have not noticed a difference. And raw eggs are minging anyway.

+ farking 1 on that!!! But I prefer 2 Neurofen +

And if I forget the above...
Curling up into the foetal position, not moving a muscle until my magic hour of 1pm strikes. Then food, any food, but bacon butties are THE best. And if the stomach is still a bit funny... Bunderburg Ginger Beer.

You would think that when the Blood Amount Redirection System (B.A.R.S) comes in to play, the banging in ones head would cease, but not always. :baby:

Take a Vitamin B tablet of some type an the hang over will be gone in around ten minites.

It's the lack of vitamin B which alcohol burns out of your system that gives you the hang over.

Things like bacon an eggs are high in vitamin B which is why their a favorite of many people.

I get sinus problems when I drink.
So I generally don't drink, which = more bike money.

I am loaded anyway  nowadays it can be a month or so between drinks, only on social occasions. I had quite a bit on Saturday night, probably more this weekend because we are going up north for a few days on Friday to kick back and relax...another good time for me to have a wee tot :niceone: but we will be right on the beach so I nice early morning walk along the beach and let the sea air do it's job.

marmite dude. marmite.

there is that, too, but rehydrating is harder than doping up on vits, however, a bit of powerade (or anything that replaces salts, complex sugars and electrolytes) works good too.

You're the only person I know of that does read them, so I'll take your word for it.

Is it possible then, that my lack of hangover situation in the last five years or so, with no reduction in booze intake is due to a diet that is B vitamin rich? I have no explanation as to why it might be said rich, I'm merely wondering.

..., followed by a lengthy shower, while resting my head against the shower wall, works best for me :innocent:

I tried that once the morning after a late session at Mount Cook ... and the shower water knocked me over. Finished up sitting on the shower floor for 5 or so minutes before dragging my sorry arse down to work.

Hermitage Hotel, Mt Cook staff accomodation ... great drinking and hangover stories.

One of the funniest though was the guy who make himself cheese on toast after a late night at the pub ... then fell asleep in it and woke up many hours later with it stuck fast to his face.

Happy Birthday Oakie :D

Stayed at the Hermitage on my first trip to NZ, had my 15th B'day there :Punk:

Drunkenedness... I only really drink when in NZ... not enough to get hung-over... Happy idiot while drunk though :facepalm:

Not that I have (maybe) a stash at mom & Maha's

PS: I think cause I'm a lite weight it only takes a few for me to get wobbly & therefore don't consume enough for a hang-over... my excuse... bug off :D

First time I've seen a city cited as a hangover cure ...Cure is the wrong word.

One's mind is taken away from the hangover when they stop in the tron. Due to a preoccupation with the dose of the clap you get as soon as you get out of your car.

Actually there's sound logic in that alcohol helps to "convert" the by products of alcohol breaking down by reconverting them into a less toxic form, this buys you time to let your system detox. I forget the details of how this works but it is something I learnt when I did the brewing course. So hit the piss again and wean yourself off slowly.:drinknsin

it's methanol.... it's why they give you alcohol if you have alcohol poisoning. the ethanol absorbs the methanol and you end up shitfaced, but not dead.

fuknK1W1

No methanol is an entirely different molecular chain. Yes you are right about ethanol for a methanol detox.

So I found some notes while cleaning out some shit in the shed...
Alcohol breaks down something like this;
-OH Alcohol
-CHO Aldehyde (in this case it's formaldehyde) a big apart of the hangover!
-CO Ketone
-COOH Carboxylic Acid
-C-O-C Ether
-C-O-O-C Ester
:drinkup::drinkup::drinkup::drinkup::drinkup::drin kup::drinkup::drinkup::drinkup:
The imbibing in more alcohol temporarily reverses the breakdown process
