Ok - quick question for all you fans of Hinkley Triumphs...
Where is the best source of consumables such as filters etc OTHER than the local dealer who may or may not have such things in stock depending upon the famous importer / agent. I tend to buy them well ahead of time so shipping from overseas isnt an issue.
Also - if I had a hankering to fit another screen / blade to this bike, who is a reliable source? It has the std one on it and the black backing paint is destroying itself and looking tatty (can't have that). Also - double bubbles? Strikes me that would just direct the air and rain into your face?
Thanks in advance (an no Jim2 this isnt farkling)

I have an 07 Speedie and find supercheap carry the correct oils and filters for mine so should have the right ones for you. According to manufacturers site if your Sprint is 06 -11 THIS (http://www.supercheapauto.co.nz/online-store/products/Hiflo-Motorcycle-Oil-Filter-HF204.aspx?pid=131297&menuFrom=50906#Cross)is the one. Cant help with the screen though, I don't got one

"World of Triumph" for both parts UK, and part numbers for buying locally.
The TriumphRat net web site is also a great source of information on all things Triumph,,,including links to the best "DART brand" fly screens ect.
It's a good thing you don't mind a wait or mind importing from over seas because the local agents are,,,,,rather lacking to be polite.

Amazon.com.
I get all my filters from there.
I buy a box of 20 odd and they fit both my race bike and my road 955i.
Purolator is the brand and they are the bees knees according to the experts in Pommie land.
I can get you the model number if you like and pm it to you.
They work out to about $7 each once shipped over.
Plenty of other stuff on there too.

hiflo oil filters are availiable everywhere.
The fuel filter inside the tank, is 1/4 of the price if you get one from a bmw motorcycle shop.

This is 100% true.
Jack Lilley was another site i have used in the past for Triumph bits (google it).

This is 100% true.
Don't think that applies to the 1050 Sprint, as the filter is a sealed part of the pump.

I have a cable if you want to alter the tune, often there is an updated tune check tune ecu site for listing . Good if just want to correct speedo error too.

Thanks Dave - thus far I wouldnt have a clue if it needs that or not as its so much more than anything else in the shed it seems perfect.

There is a Tiger 1050 site with a wealth of info I'd suspect there is a Sprint one too. Tigers can be a bit 'snatchy' off a closed throttle but a 'Off road' (read: didn't quite pass emissions test) tune fixes it. Plenty of tunes to suit aftermarket pipes etc.

Already mentioned hiflo filters are easily sourced, I got a screen from the UK for the Daytona for around $50nz otherwise Godiva screens is a local source too,
I go through VGCspares.co.nz for bigger items and Tim tends to have a lot in stock..
2 recent examples
- local triumph dealer couldn't find me a speedo cable for the 03 Trophy after a month of being dicked around, I contacted Tim and he had one $62.50 including freight.
-Just the other day Triumph NZ told me $374.40 plus freight for a new speedo sensor for the 03 Daytona got one from Tim for $254 including freight.

I find AMPS keep most stuff in stock when I need it. If they have to order it, then you may as well get it quicker my buying directly from the UK http://www.squaredeals-ltd.co.uk/index.asp
I get Elf fully synthetic 15/50 racing oil from those boys on Tawa drive. It's heaps cheaper and has the same rating as the over priced stuff.
Free Flow air filters have a lifetime warrantee
