Does that mean we're going to have Whiskey Galore NZ styles? i.e. KFC galore?

Oh fuck... I'm sure the buckets will be sealed and may well serve as floatation devices.

I don't have any sympathy for them if they neglected to check the marine weather forecast before heading out.

+1 to that, and they'll probably get the salvage costs under a dodgy tuhoi treaty payment as well.

I thought that after the last waka capsizing episode on lake Rotorua, there was a requirement to wear life-vests?

They were sailing from Napier to Wellington and ended up in island bay !

They may need to to look at their navigation as well

First of all - what a load of racist drivel

second, the waka did not capsize - it is perfectly safe - waka like this journeyed all over the pacific .. one little blow is no biggie

Third .. No idea who said the waka was in trouble - It certainly does not look like the crew said it was in trouble .. they have stayed on the not-capsized waka

Fourth - yes they were heading for Wellington - isn't Island Bay in Wellington? Seems to me they got there ..

Haven,t they just come back from some celebration of waka navigation or somesuch in Easter Is?
The one in Doubtless bay has anyway. Also it was a reporter that said they were in trouble, no-one else! And why are we assuming they have no life jackets? Having been on a small boat in a big sea, I can confirm it is very fucken scary. They are happy to ride it out for the night, can't be too bad.

Some people really should check the truth behind the drivel that others spout, before adding their own. Eh BB?
