Hi, 19 year old learner rider wondering if there's any others my age on here on the north shore that some time in the next few months might want to get together for a ride just locally...won't be doing the highway for a while.. nothing against the oldies BTW :)

Slofox seems to be really embracing old age. Hope you're not like the old guys in a car doing 40km.h when you're out on your bike . Would get run over doing that on a bike ;)

Dont strain yourself there fella, you would have to be pushing the bike to go that slow.:devil2:

It pushes quite easily. That's why I like light bikes - and I can pick it up when I fall off (at 0.40km/hr).

I'm more than twice your age Bosslady and I still don't feel old (apart from in the mornings of course...:blah:).

But I'd have to say that I feel youngest on the motorbike. (Or on the dance floor actually come to think of it - but the bike is better.)

Yea, do more desktop publishing really, but have a general background in digital design including some web design.

Cool, well post up on here or flick me a PM. Don't usually head over to the shore to ride, seeing as I live 10 mins away from Maraetai and Kawakawa Bay but I'm usually keen for a ride on the weekend, wherever that may be.

Lol. Haven't taken up any offers on here yet. Cool to know so many are there for group rides. I'm slowly learning the skills... slowly. I stalled it doing a u-turn up a hill yesterday.. you gotta wonder why I even tried that.

The only way you are going to learn, is by doing it. We all stalled on hills when we first started, and even people who have been riding for years, can stall on a hill. You only fail when you give up trying.:Punk::Punk:

Thanks for the ride and the tips, me and Jeremy both had fun and learnt a bunch. We should go on a real ride some time when Jeremy gets his "cute 125" going and me and him get licensed. :)

too coward for what? can you go 100kmph? and as long as you have the basics clothing wise, don't worry about the "cold" it's no different to what you'd experience at nass.

I havent tried motorway riding yet. Juniper took me on a ride up North and that's the most out there I've gotten apart from suburban rides. The 125 tops out at 90 anyway.. so I don't think I'll be heading over the bridge and out south until I get more experience under my belt.. maybe next month or something though

Riding a hornet 250. Been riding every day for a year now, still on L's but R in a month or so. (Not that it makes any difference).

Frequently have Sundays and Mondays off work so these are really the only days I'm avail until summer when its light until 9pm.

Anyone keen on a ride??!!

Hey! We should go for a ride some time. Although, your experience level is probably a lot beyond mine.. I've been riding for 1 month, 3 weeks now.

I gotta agree with the above post.. night time is not that bad at all! I prefer it over rain, though. It just means focusing more of your attention on those things that are really important such as hazard ID'ing so you know what's going on around you, even if you can't actually see it for yourself.

I'm sure that others have said this to you before (as has been told to me several times as well) make sure that stuff stays away from your tires.

I use a car plastic wax. And beeswax on the seat. Makes the leather come up nice and it tacky enough to hold your seating position without effort

I'll have a better clue this avo.

Do East Coast to silverdale maybe the toll payment stop? Dan want to join?

80-90 is full throttle on a 125.. It was literally wide open throttle :P It stopped revving up at 8k .. I Wonder if its rev limited.

It actually does glow that much, it's really noticable even in daylight.

Not really from the shore but I do head down towards Auckland more often then not to ride so if you're ever keen for an extra riding partner flick me a pm (anyone) as I am keen to get as many k's under my belt as possible.
