So, I saw this on here. http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php/159279-Suzuki-GSXR-600-for-sale And thought it was quite a bit over priced. Went to have a look what other muppets are selling them for, and when clicking "other stuff you might like", found this gem.
http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/motorbikes/motorbikes/sports/auction-604203397.htm

200Hp? I bloody don't think so! Q and A made me laugh.

Anyhoo, just thought I'd post to get my count up a bit more.

You want over priced?

Ok this was listed at 12K for a few months. Looks like nobody bit so he dropped the price a bit:
http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/motorbikes/motorbikes/sports/auction-605043116.htm

This was at 10K for a few months. Again nobody bit so price has gone down slightly:
http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/motorbikes/motorbikes/sports/auction-605285145.htm

And then this one comes up for $3000 and I think finally a reasonable price

It's got cams (don't they all?), and it's black and it's shiny, the stickers are intact, ooh, a short black (to match of course) pipe.

Why on earth would you think this isn't a kick arse 200hp+ beast

Hasn't got the makings to be epic really... It's when the seller agrees it has a red power band and he'll check on the flux capacitor that you know you're REALLY onto a winner.

I don't get off on asking those questions on auctions. Gets taken too far usually, after the first one goes up.

The K9, If I gave the seller the money, ( as the sellers details says ), took off on a test ride and went through speed cameras etc, then cleaned up Akzle's $65,000 Merc at an intersection, I come out of it relatively unscathed, ( My fault, so I disappear) The owner would still be liable for all insurance claims wouldn't he? So even holding the purchase price doesn't mean that as a seller, he has covered all his bases.

Anyway, who would be stupid enough to let a stranger ride off on their 200hp sports bike?

Couldn't help it, had to go and have a look.... Maybe in lala land.

I have Bugdens 09/10 superbike in my garage, and I have all the roadgear for it. The cost to build that engine was greater than that moron is trying to sell his bike at, and I wouldn't be asking more than that for mine,(if I were selling) and mine IS the real deal. Red had 210 on the dyno in fine tuning for Robbie, we backed it off and broadened the power delivery to make it fun for me to ride, around 195 now.

Am assuming he actually believes what he claims, simply because he doesn't know better, as most road riders with limited experence don't. Q&A was a giggle, but I have refrained from posting on his auction myself, so far...........

Probably wouldn't make a lot of sense handing over 14.5 k (that you clearly wouldn't get back) only to go out and destroy the bike simply so the seller gets left with an insurance claim and some speeding tickets.

Here in NZ the rider would be both uninsured (assuming they hadn't obtained their own for the test ride) and out of pocket the 14.5k. The car owners insurance would fix the car, and then take the test rider to the civil court (pretty sure that's too much for Disputes Tribunal) to recoup their costs. You'd then have to sort out a payment plan with the insurance company or they'd get a judgement for payment and come take all your stuff.

Yeah ... but you're assuming he can come out of it "relatively unscathed" - enough to run away ... I suggest that to "cleaned up" a car with a bike and walk away relatrively unscathed would be a neat trick ..

Sorry, scratch " $65,000 Merc", put in '87 Corolla. ,

Imdying, mentions insurance. A dealer will often make a test rider fill out an insurance excess form, but I guess it would be a bit differcult for a private seller to ask a prospective genuine buyer to cough up the purchase price and / or his insurance excess.

I've done it. On a test ride no less. Wrote both the bike (1978 Z1R Kawasaki) and the car (Toyota Corrolla) off. You get that when you T Bone it at around 120kph. Flew about 50m down the road and walked away. Be a very different story had it been a truck or a van of course. But only the good die young right. The rest of us get to hang round and make cunts of ourselves for years...

That VFR400, I don't think that guys actually trying to sell it. He had it listed at 6500 for over a year. Then that RVF popped up for 12k, and the guy with the VFR decided his bike after a year of not selling at 6500 was actually worth 10,000.

I would think it was a case of "Yeah honey I'm trying to sell the bike but nobodys buying! *wink wink*" except for the fact the K's aren't going up at all on it.

He's even advertised it on KB. A year + on and still at 64,000km. So he's not riding it and not selling it. The worlds a funny place :eek5:

I love this answer, to the current last question.

Q "Factory HP figures are done on a test bench with a test engine, HP figure measured at the crank. In the real world, a K9 1000 is around 170 plus or minus. A can on a 4 to 1 link on the header will do little to change that, unless mapping is done on the dyno. My K9 really does make 200. Ex Robbie Bugden ,a bike he won the NZ Superbike title on.That engine cost more than your bike to build. Consumer gauranties act obliges you be accurate in your description. Post your dyno figures".

A "So I'm 100% right then.. "in the real world" these are approx 160-165at the wheel hp, I have said 200hp at the crank..if you use the approx calculation of 15-18% to calculate wheel-crank hp you are looking at a medium average of +26.81 hp extra which gives you 162.5 wheel hp+26.81hp crank conversion + extractors and pipe and filter at approx 5-10hp and here we are at 199.31hp at the crank! .. P.s This is an auction not a forum go txt ya mate Robbin bugden and see if he wants a play date".

At 18%, it still isn't 200 ponies. And trust me, you don't get 5 horses from a pipe and filter without mapping the ECU differently.

Yip. My thou was fine, right up untill Dion Sellers rode away from me on a straight bit while my speedo was pinned at 299. (That's as high as the K2 gixxer speedo went, the rev counter would continue to climb. (Yes, I am aware the speedo was optimistic)).

When I purchased my 04 ZX10R, I was told the seller had babied it. He's describing the bike, saying it kills the R1s, and he's disappointed he's only had it up to 270. I'm thinking shit, no way was this babied.

Then he shows me the rear tyre, and says, but I never could wear away the last inch on the side of the tyre :eek5:
