Hi all

Need a bit of advice.

Got the above bike. Had it for about 14 months and today I'd thought I check out sprocket wear. Took the front sprocket cover off and now it won't fit back on. It's like the clutch pin is too long.

Prior to taking the cover off I zip tied the clutch lever to the handlebar so the clutch was fully depressed before I took the cover off as I understand you can get air into the system if you don't do this and I also left the clutch slave cylinder attached to the sprocket cover and only took the necessary top and bottom bolts out to allow removal of the cover. Now the cover won't fit back on. Pin seems too long by about couple of mm.

Any advice on how I get this to fit back on?

Sprocket didn't need replacement after all.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers

When you tied the lever in, the clutch pin was pushed in. It has returned as you took the cover off.

So you've made life hard for yourself. Undo the zip tie, and let the lever out as you push the cover on.

Thanks for the reply.

Unzipped the lever but the pin remained the same. Ended up taking the clutch slave off the sprocket cover and noticed that the piston had come out ever so slightly. A good firm push back in and all good.

Cheers

pleased you got it sorted, was going to suggest a FBH, that often helps at times like that :wait:
