June resulted in an increase of 35% on June 04 but down 23% on last month. The 'moped' classification was responsible for the increase in June 05 (up 149% on last month and 78% YTD) however 'real' motorcylce sales were down 6% for the month, still up 17% YTD.
On an individual basis Suzuki's GN250 was #1 with 24 units, GSXR1000K5 with 12 units, HD's Dyna range followed with 9, BMW's F650 and R1200, HD's Softail range and Suzuki's SJ125 were all tied in in 4th on 8 units.
The Nth Island was up 46% over the same month last year, the Sth Island up 17%.
Change of ownerships were up 11% last month over June 04.
So, Suzuki is the preferred motorcycle brand in NZ (based on new sales figures.) You could say the GN250 is the most popular learner level motorcycle, and the GSXR1000K5 is the #1 sportsbike in NZ.
