Hey guys, my bike (1990 NZNew GSXR250) overheated, suspected the head gasket was leaking so took it apart.
Turns out it was, the head and bores are fine tho, so decided to replace the head gasket (obviously) along with the base gasket (was leaking oil), tappet cover gaskets, water pump o rings and seals, clutch cover, flywheel cover...etc.

Waiting for the parts to arrive, but im kind of confused about this...I have only ever done 2 strokes (which is MUCH simplier)

The bike is a four stroke, so does the compress, fire, exhaust, intake thinggie...
How do I know if im exactly 1/2 cycle out? or does it fire top and bottom? In theory would i be able to swap the coils over (so the right coil fires 1 and 4 instead of 2 and 3) if i did come across this?

Most inlines also fire on the exhaust cycle.. (TDC)..... When you set the marks on the crankshaft end and then the cam sprockets it will be right..you could swap the coils over as units but not the leads (if set correctly)........ Trivia..The CBX/6 has 2 piece camshafts, normally intake lobes on 1 and 6 would be at 180 degree's to each other,if you assemble it with those lobes in the same direction you end up with a big Triple, how do i know this
