My family and I had our ceremony a couple of weeks ago. Must admit that I thought the ceremony was a joke, it should have been a lot more formal and serious in my honest opinion.

Congrats too.

Congrats as well. So when do we get our free beer? It is a time-old tradition, compulsary shout.

Congrats mate -

Wanna go for a big ride to celebrate??

Good luck with the ceremony though. Bit hard to stay awake during it. Had a hard time myself a few years ago - but I had trouble staying awake during school assembly too:rofl:

so what can one do as a citizen that one can't do as a permanent resident ? I'm just wondering. I'm not too keen on giving up my danish citizenship (Denmark dosen't allow dual :violin: ) so does anybody have good reasons why i should ?

Oh and congrats ....(or is it condolences) :chase: ahhhhhhhhhhh

You are less likely to be deported if you are a bad boy on a citizenship.
On a residence you can still be deported.

Basically right - you can't be deported if you're a citizen [s3(1) Immigration Act 1987]. If you're a citizen the immigration act 'doesn't' apply (Apart from the customsy type stuff when you come in to or go out from NZ) and you have the right to be in NZ at any time.

[Studying Immigration and Refugee Law paper this semester - it's an interesting beast...]

Congrats.

Oh - and you can have your Kiwi nationality revoked if you pose a threat to national security. So no more speeding, jokes about moustaches or watching Kiwi idol.
