I absolutely HATE being in the car when there are bikes about :oi-grr: Just makes me wish that I was on mine!

When we headed south from Coromandel early this afternoon, there were a pile of bikes sitting at the Whitianga turn at Coromandel. Down the coast, they progressively passed us, riding fast but extremely well - nice work :Punk: . The first bunch past were a motard of some sort and a couple of Speed Triples, after that; there were a couple of Kawasaki 636's with a Ducati 916, a silver Daytona and a Buell (I think). Thanks for the courtesy of waving as I indicated to say I'd seen you coming up from behind - I was in the silver Impreza hatch.

Not sure whether he was part of the group, but a blue Triumph Sprint came past a few minutes later and overtook a Maxima in front of me. I think that the Maxima driver took exception and either flashed his lights or used his horn and the Triumph pulled over and the Maxima followed suit. Hope that it was only words that were exchanged! Also hope that the rest of the group avoided the cop a bit further down the coast who was giving everyone a squirt with his radar :ride:

That's for sure. I'd put my Escort detector in the car for the trip and going south through the Hauraki Plains and right through to Matamata, it was going off on Ka band regularly. On a few occasions, I never did see the cops so they were probably on other roads and I was just catching their pulses.

Almost didn't. Only reason we went was cause my dad got bored.

Ah, good old dad, think mine would be more likely to say "Son, I'm bored lets go sell that dangerous bike of yours".

Lol he already did sell it. He sold it, I bought it. Though he kept saying that next time we go out that way when it's warm enough to swim he's taking the bike. Told him only if I wasn't going.

Apparently Warr and a few others from Hamilton were out riding to Raglan today aswell. He tried calling me to see if I wanted to go but I wasn't home. Might have been some of the ones I saw while out there. Did see one that looked like Warr's bike.

Nice place Raglan, just don't really like the road getting there, something wrong with the seal on the road, keeps changing, bit of a shame really coz it's a wee bit of a biker mecca on a nice sunday. So the bikes going well with all the new bits and pieces, whats the tank like i.e. color (see I even spelt colour wrong, so I could be cultrally sensitive) finish etc?

Read my other thread mate the tank hasn't arrived yet lol. Was too big to bring on the plane. Still havn't gotten the speedo to work but havn't really looked at it yet, been to busy with other things. It doesn't stall or backfire on me anymore though so, so far it's great.

So I'm figuring now that it runs well, it wont be mistaken for a harley anymore? Never a nice thing to call a proper bike.
