Not another one. My heart sank. At this rate the lawmakers will feel compelled to do something punitive to stop "it".

My thoughts are with the family and friends of our downed brother/sister.

Not wearing a helmet, according to today's news. Sad news now even sadder.

IF he wasn't wearing a helmet, then I totally agree. The emergency services have a tough enough job as it is without having to deal with this sort of thing.

Although at face value it seems harsh, I have to agree. Doesn't matter whether you're going for a long ride or just testing the bike up the street, always wear your helmet.

OK that's a little different. It's not like he went for a fang on the open road without his helmet. Poor bugger, it just goes to show why you need to wear the things.

If we were a car forum we'd have to post these sorts of threads every day just about.

I wonder if this was a "proper" motorbike, or a minibike. The press is often confused (sometimes I am too). Just cos minibike users dont often wear lids

Lets becareful out there people.

Was out at Muriwai on sunday. Saw an idiot family that let their 12 year old kid ride a 50cc scooter with no gear and helmet on the beach. The kid would have been doing at least 50km on the beach. This idoit was not only endangering himself but also the people walking on the beach. :nono:

and was he hooning up and down his street showing off to his mates.
Again the media don't mention this either.

I feel sorry for his family, helmet or not he is dead now..Like the Two Ronnies said,Death can be Fatal......in more ways then one.

A lot about motorcyles is based on judgement..precision and accuracy...get it wrong and the consequences can be harsh, thats how it is.

Don't be too harsh on the media. At these times they are sometimes prevented from reporting certain stuff while the Police complete enquiries.

Do you actually know that to be the case?

Not good , anyone know how young or otherwise the rider was.

Any urban area is about the most dangerous place to ride, I hate riding in town.
