View Full Version : I made it! (Fern)
Hi
I've just moved to Auckland...
I rode my DRZ400 from UK to India, lived in Nepal for 8 months (trail riding in the Himalaya) then flew from India to NZ...
My bike is on a ship and arrives in a few weeks time...
I want to meet people in the area, go trail riding/greenlaning/ enduro once I get a job and some cash....
be nice to meet up

p.s Can you park on pavements in the CBD if it is not in the way of pedestrians... and anyone recommend where I can buy a big fuck off chain to protect my baby?

Gidday and welcome. Wow what a trip, you lucky bugger. I am pretty sure you will get yourself a few tickets parking on the footpath. As for chain, local hardware stores sell chain, but you probably want something a bit more substantial, so an engineering supply type shop would be the best place to look. Or a bike shop may be able to point you in the right direction.:Punk::Punk:

Bike shops will have a range of motorcycle chains on offer.
As for parking on footpaths, you'll receive a ticket if a warden sees it. Motorcycle parking options here: http://www.aucklandtransport.govt.nz/parking/WherecanIpark/Pages/Motorcycle-Parking-CBD.aspx
Congrats on making it to Auckland... watch out, I reckon the Auckland drivers will be more dangerous for you than the Himalayas.

you gunna trailride/enduro your drz or get a lighter dirt setup bike?
just gonna use the DRZ, I know its heavy but i'm not serious...
Also folks, i'm looking for office or bar, or hospitality work, anything really in the Auckland area if anyone knows of anything going- my last job was as a Motorcycle instructor for a tour company, before that a biker bar in a town much like Queenstown minus the cows in the road and shit in the lake.. and my previous UK jobs were in Office/Logistics management...
