I've seen ads for two way radios between bikes, and after riding with the love of my life this afternoon I REALLY want to be able to talk to her while we're on the road.
Does onyone out there have any experience with these new fangled things? Can anyone recommend a system which works, and how much will it cost?
Does your chewing gum really lose its flavour on the bed post overnight?

The answers would interest me as well. How does 'bluetooth' fit in? Wireless?

Been Here (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=9314&highlight=pinfold) before.
I have the Pinfold solution which interfaces into a CB radio for bike to bike communications.

I think Bluetooth would be great, however the normal bluetooth headpieces would proove problematic with the helmet. The one I use for work won't work, cause I can't put my helmet on when its on my ear, nor can I get it on after my helmets on? They need to design something flatter maybe!

Chewing gum tastes stale when left overnight

Depends on how long you had been chewing it before you attached it to the bed post?

try that link, when workin as cbt instructor in Uk, we used kenwood radios, the pmr446 ones and headsets made up by these guys, they have ptt push to talk, or voice activated function, generally crystal clear sound over 2-3km, then patchy reception.
The alan 456r radios are a cheap option, but i dont know whether they are available over here.
Its not a bad site for info. anyway.
Hope it helps

bluetooth doesn't have the range between bikes. Rider-to-pillion would be fine tho.
For bike to bike, I use a Uniden CB with a headset plugged in with the PTT button on. Works fine for me and my bro.. plus if you're riding and have a car following, they can use it too.. or as many bikes/cars/people as you want on that channel

haha bluetooth between helmets..........you'd have to stay within 10 metres for it to work sweet between rider and pillon but things would get a bit complicated if there were 2 bikes

AMPS can do a Baehr Sono system, it's the best, the cops have tested them to 200 k's with perfect clarity. $585 inc.
Transceivers run to around $100.00.

A helmet to helmet is the last accesory I would buy
Yeah but sometimes, it's hard to figure out whether the rider is saying, "ooh, look at the giant gash that the last earthquake left in that farmers field" or "we're gonna go straight along in that sort of direction" or even "did you see that? It looked like a UFO".
You try deciphering bloody U-F-O when you're riding along at 80 (slowed down to 'communicate') with visors up at night...it's not exactly the letters you're ANTICIPATING hearing.
Sometimes, it'd come in handy. But maybe an 'on/off' switch so as you can avoid the earbashing! :)
