Just another daft newbie foreigner question. When you change the oil in your bike is there something you're supposed to do with the old stuff? In Pomland it's illegal to pour it down the drain, they have special sumps where you can dump it.

(waits for the stream of Pom abuse) :wait:

most petrol stations have drop off points. if your local one doesn't have one, then they should know where there is one.

I recycle my 6000 km old fully synthetic oil into my ride-on lawn mower. It beats leaving the oil in the mower for 15 years and then complaining that the bloody mower is unreliable. :hbd: mower

City Council will have drop off points or can tell you where to go.

Visit any oil changing shop/garage.
They might take your old oil for free?

Does anyone know where I can dispose of used engine oil in Wellington? I can't seem to find any petrol stations that provide this service.

Cheers!

My old man tried that once. We had this flax bush that we wanted to get rid of and so over a period of a couple of years all the old oil went into the middle of the flax. All that happened was that the flax bush got bigger and lusher. Eventually it was decided that the flames of fury were required to rid the earth of this scourge. The thing was encouraged to burn with a little petrol. Man it went up. This bloody great explosion - all the neighbours came out of their houses to see what was going on. Man.

  Flax bush is technically NOT a weed... but a plant..

I was talking about around the edge of your sections... to stop your neighbours long grass or weeds coming throu... its worked for me..
But I have no moved up to Roundup... But any old oil I will still use it as weedkiller.

is there something you're supposed to do with the old stuff?
There is a compulsory acquisition law that requires you to give it to Lion breweries for recycling
